3G internet

Postby Hazza » Mon Jun 26, 2006 6:11 pm

What does everyone know about this? How can somebody check to see if they have coverage or how to have it installed? Any ideas on costs of this?

I have a friend in Mazotos who is desperate to get online. Unfortunately, those really nice people at CyTA haven't given her a telephone line, nor is there a poll for them to pull a line to her house.

If anyone knows anything about this 3G, please, let me know:)

3G doesn't cover the whole Cyprus. I know Areeba covers only the urban areas. http://www.areeba.com.cy/Sub.aspx?ID=26 ... rentID=151 Cyta probably covers some more but I am not sure. When there is no 3G coverage it drops to GPRS which is much slower. To get connected you need to buy a data card that costs about 120 pounds and a plan. The plans are either per Kb or "unlimited" plans for a fixed monthly price. Areeba has an offer for unlimited for just 29 per month. I tried 3G and when there is coverage it is good. Almost like ADSL.
