UK and the USA do not recognise the government of Cyprus,

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

In the intercommunal fighting, the figure of TC's that were killed is 100 and something (don't know exactly) almost the same as the GC's....however many people did live in enclaves...

Peace!

Are you suggesting that the events described in the posting regarding the attacks on TC' s in 1963 did not happen and this is merely proturkish propaganda? How else are you going to explain reports from independent observers. Now let me guess. I know you are going to suggest that these were merely unfortunate intercommunal disturbances iniatated by the TC's in order to provoke a Turkish invasion and hence partition on orders from Ankara. Am I right? Yes I thought so.

Why are you saying this? Is it because I said thanks for the laughs to Paul? It was for the first part of his post regarding the claim that the UK doesn't recognize the RoC. I didn't even bother reading the entire post to see what was next.

Do you mean the GCs butchered by GCs?

Do you mean the coachload of Paphos GCs massacred by the the GCs from Nicosia by Kolossi Castle

Do you mean the GCs shot in the back Nicos Sampson.

You do. good, because I can now understand why you are so bitter and everybody else, the Americans, the British and the Turkish, and anyone else you can think of, are guilty, but not one single GC.

Nice attitude eh!

Hi, I am British Born Cypriot and have just joined your forum. I was v. interested in what you said about US and UK foreign policy, but this quote dates back to the 80s and since now RoC has joined the EU, surely this view is no longer applicable?

Although, I do not think the London High Court will uphold the Cypriot court's decision - I am sure it won't be made on this basis, they're not that stupid.

Also, does anyone know if the judgement is not upheld, could they appeal and to whom would the appeal be made? Could it reach the EU courts? -If so, the story of how the Brits won Cyprus back is only just beginning, because the longer these political mind games are played on the Cypriot psyche, the less likely we are (both G&TC) of reclaiming our heritage......

Nicole welcome to the forum , as far as the US and Britain are concerned there is only one Government in Cyprus repressenting , or at least it should do , all Cypriots. There is no argument to support what a misinformed post earlier sugested that US and Britain do not recognise Cyprus. It is obviously in the interests of the US , Britain and the rest of the world that the Cyprus issue is resolved so as both communities can leave in peace with each other.
