Postby natasha007 » Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:39 pm

hello everyone!

cyprus is a great place, but.....

this topic is to share what it is that you miss most about your country...or have seen abroad and would like to see here...whether it is a service, a product, or ways of improving businesses which already exist here...

coming from moscow, russia, i miss just about everything ...would like to hear your thoughts on the subject...

cheers!

I miss: crime, negative attitudes, cold weather, expensive eating out and petrol, stress and having to commute to work every day :-)

I would like to see more open minded people.
Lower cost of living. It is ridiculous there now.
And PEOPLE minding their own business.

What I miss not having here in the US? The climate, the sea, my family.

What I DO NOT miss one bit? Cyprus Politics.

 I used to be National Sales Manager for Jacobs, the compnay that manufactures Twiglets - Strangely addictive!

Not moved yet, but I imagine

I will miss:

Friends and family
My beloved Football team / Season Ticket
Convenience of shops like Tesco(?)

I won't miss:

Crappy weather
Daily commute (80 miles round trip!)
Out of control immigration problem
Crappy weather
Crime
Extortionate fuel cost
Extortionate insurance costs (House & car)
Crappy weather
Council Tax
Inheritance tax (Particularly bitter pill!)
Capital Gains Tax

I'll stop there for now....

Hi Supertrotter

Sorry to disappoint you but you will not be leaving Capital Gains Tax behind, in fact, in Cyprus you have to pay CGT even when you sell your own place of residence, unlike emany European countries.
