hectic activity on moscow streets (center in particular) at any time of day or night
traffic jams (real ones!! u can really chill out and listen to your fave radio)
ahhh the radiooooo- will we ever have so much choice here?
open minded people and people who really dont give a crap about what u do, wear, who u hang out with, etc
lack of gossippppppppp (national sport over here)
24 hour open stores!!!!
shops working from 10am to 11pm!!!!
the metro (tube equivalent in UK)
knowing that u can go to the theatre (even if you dont go)
book stores!!!!!!! massive and open till 1am!!! (although always crowded....which brings us to the next point.....
...culturally aware people, who rnt stuck in their own little universe....(dont mean to offend anyone :-)
and much much more...

although there many bonuses to living in Cyprus...sea, sun, fun....stability....i do love it...;-)

stability have to be very important for you to stay here ...
And you know about the people, its same in every country just you havent met good people..

For the trains, build a line between nicosia, larnaca, limassol and paphos will cost some hundred billions and will need 2 or 3 generation to do a benefits... I am not sure about that, but just have a correct bus system could be great !

Repainting ok but please not green, blue, pink ...

I would love to see an underground transport system- underground train - that way saving million of pounds spent in buying cars for private use - The initial cost -investment will be huge but this will be offset in the long run as each one using the transport system will pay a fare! It is a long term investment .Also car imports will significantly be reduced.

Bus system will not do the job as the bus operating on the ground will face delays and other inconveninces due to car traffic .

The solution to the trafic problem is an underground system! This is what I am missing !

I think you need to post over 10 posts Natasha.
Not one or two line ones. I don't think they count as posts.
Then again I HAVE been wrong before. LOL

Then you can PM.

You think if there are a metro i wont buy a car ?

I you give me the choice between one hour traffic and 10minutes in underground in will choose my car. You can think i m stupid but i m just like the 5 million of other person in traffic every day around Paris.

The underground system must have aircondition and a solution for earthquake and i cannot even imagine how they can dig.

The bus know are connected to a gps system who tell you exactly in how many minutes the first one arrive and the second one, even if there are traffic. But what do you call traffic ? the 10 minutes loose to cross the main road in nicosia at lunch time ? or when every must drive at only 80 on the motorway.

What cyprus need really is a real bus system !!! and not with a cypriot clock.

Of course, until 1948 we had trains here :-(

Sorry, could you rephrase your question, please. Residents and non residents who sell immoveable propert here are subject to CGT, whatever the source of the funds. I am just about to be faced with a CGT bill of £31,000, even my lawyer cannot find a way of reducing it!

If I have not answered your question, please feel free to ask again or pm me if you prefer.

Sorry Lana.

What I meant is that I trade money which is held offshore.

In UK, if I bring this money into the UK anything over c. £8,800 is liable to CGT.

I believe that CGT is not payable on 'Outside' money brought into the island via transfers.

Our trading account is in America, and other account is in Jersey.

Does this make sense?
