No it certainly did not....
We have a muslim cemetery in the town I grew up in and those are preserved the way christian cemeteries would...

honestly I was told after the invasion that then became a cemetry for people to bury their animals

The extent of Turkish propaganda is amazing! This is what they tell to Turkish Cypriots to maintain their hate against us? :(

chinese whispers? ONE disgruntled person? even a GC making a joke which was taken seriously? a number of people for many reasons...lets not forget that the truth sometimes gets twisted unintentionally...therefore, no need to go blaming turks for everything :P hehe

Im Greek Cypriot and I have nothing against Turkish cypriots - geesh
its what I heard from a few people when I lived in Larnaca (early 90's ) - because it was an abanded cemetry (the one near Mackenzie area) people were burying their animals there - I dont think they were uplifting bodies and trashing the place. I never investigated if it was true or not beauce it didnt interest me either way.

Thank you to everyone who has responded. I will just say that last year I saw no sign of disrespect to any graves, and although it was neglected it was probably no worse in that respect than many cemeteries the world over. It was still a peaceful place.

I hope that one day all in Cyprus will be able to live in peace together.
