Satellite Cards

Postby Hazza » Mon Jun 12, 2006 7:41 am

At the moment, I have a 1.3m dish on Hotbird using a "pirate card". Now that the decent channels have moved to a different platform, I've been looking at purchasing a legal card with this one in particular interesting me.

Satellite Package : 3
Arabesque CARTE Sports Cards

Choice of Live UK Saturday 3pm premiership games and many more, you can check out the matches and all the other great sports events being shown on Art by clicking here.
These are brand new official cards. All sealed, 12 month pre-paid self activating from the date you insert the cards. Compatible with Viaccess @ European 13 degrees Hotbird Satellite, with Full English Language Commentary for English games, all our satellite cards are direct from the authorised dealers. You can also check out all live matches and see what you’re missing at:
http://64.77.87.5/sport/ and http://82.201.143.69/arttv/Artsite/cham ... howID=2048.
This card package is used by domestic end users, hotels, pubs and clubs across the world.

These Original Art Cards Have Full legal Rights to the English Premiership, The Champions League, Arabic Football and of Course The World Cup 2006.
They are self activated as soon as inserted, so you always have a full year’s football viewing. You get ART Sports 1, 2, 3, 4 including the World Cup which will be shown on Hotbird as well, On Art Sports 5 & 6 - All with Live FA Premiership and Champions League.

As a big football fan, this one looks like a dream system to have. How legal is it to use satellite systems licensed to other countries? Should the system change to a different platform, would I be given a new card or will I be screwed?

Also on a similar subject, is it possible to use 2 cards on the one reciever (Humax5400z)?

I was considering getting a dreambox, but there are strong rumours that some ISPs will be throttling some ports. Also considered getting NetVision (I think thats what its called) which works in the same way as the dreambox but the servers are based in China and there are NO monthly subscriptions.

Its a satellite dish and reciever. Using CAT5e, you connect the reciever to your ADSL router (you must have broadband internet) where you are downloading the latest frequencies and patches, unlocking Nova Greece, Nova Cyprus, ARTsports and a few more. That is both for the Dreambox and the NetVision. Difference is, the Dreambox is more reliable but you pay a monthly subscription for all the patches and updated frequencies. With Netvision, you don't pay any monthly fees and its cheaper to buy, BUT, you can experience freezing pictures from time to time.

My personal opinion is to go with the legal channels. Less likely to get stung.

The very first post in this thread shows ALOT of live premiership games. Artsports is what they have in most pubs here to show the live games.

As for UK tv, I'm assuming you mean the terrestrial channels? You'll need a 4m dish for that which doesn't come cheap.
