Piratis you are correct is stating that the land on which the British bases are on is worth billions , but how would Cyprus benefit by removing the Brits and redeveloping these areas presumably to attract more tourists and investors from the UK ?
I am not convinced that Cyprus will gain financially by removing the British bases , but on this issue I keep an open mind in view of the hostility shown by this British government towards Cyprus.
Do also remember that a great deal of English people disagree with the policies of the UK government none more so than the absurd political correctness , asylum nonsense and the take over of Britain by foreign cultures that just happen to despise our own culture.

The British Bases occupy land that worths billions, especially in Limassol that they cover a lot of the coast line.

The salaries that some people get are peanuts compared to the value of that land and financial benefits that development of that land could provide to Cyprus.

Those bases were given to the British as part of the "Treaty of warranty" were the UK guaranteed the independence and sovereignty of Cyprus.

Since they UK didn't do anything to honor that treaty, those bases should be returned to Cypriots who are the ones that own that land. (except if anybody in here still believes in colonialism).

Well, the U.S. has a loooooot of bases all over the world (including Europe). I´m not saying is ok, but Cyprus is not the only one.

I have never noticed any discrimination or hatred towards the british, only on here, but it does seem to be the minority on here, and they only seem to dislike those that have bought property on the north ( and I totally understand why that upsets a few ppl ) and now a dislike of our bases here on the island, But ITS NOT US ITS THE GOVERMENT! Thats why we are here to be rid of the stinking polititions that our ruining our lives in the uk. I agree you get the odd brit here that wants to turn cyprus into the uk with all year sun but they are few, and there are plenty of us sane normal brits putting these ppl back in their place by telling them to go home then! I think I must be very lucky to have so many cypriot friends oh and husband who make me feel more than welcome to be here, i love cyprus and its ppl and i prey all those that experienced the terrible things that happened in the past will see that was then and this is now, and us that have moved here didnt do those things, we are all individuals please do not judge us as one.
