When the phrase anti British is used, it is directed at Goverment and the instruments of Goverment , not at joe public. I hope thats clear.

I have been to Cyprus seven times on holiday and I’m coming again this year. I have to say I have never felt as though I’m not welcome and never felt that Cypriots have something against the British until I visited this forum. Reading some of the things that people say, it upsets me because I love Cyprus so much and I love the Cypriot people and culture. I understand why you would hold something against our government but what you have to realise is that you cannot generalize the actions of our government to the British people. Most British people hate our government more than you do and most of us do not agree with most of what they do. I have read so many things about how the British are friends with the Turks, which is just not true. Most British people do not like the Turks and their government. Like I said it upsets me so much when people from the place that I love talk about how they hate us and say that we have something against them, I’ve even had arguments about the Cyprus problem before because I so strongly disagree with Turkey’s invasion and occupation. I hope that you can somehow see that the actions of the British government do not reflect the British people :/

Hey amers!I dont think we have any problems with British people,in fact we like you. Of course there will be always few people(everywhere in the world) that dislike foreigners.I know that if there is something people doesnt like about you is your government,british people are nice and i repeat we have nothing against you.Cyprus economy is based on tourism and british people are a biig part of it!Im happy to know you disagree with Turkeys actions and im sure your not the only one!I've met lots of British people and all of them were really nice .Ignore some posts on this forum because some people are only hating because of the government which is not fair!

Amers , the British people are well liked by the overwhelming majority of Cypriots. As for this forum , you can rest assured that again the vast majority are British friendly .

For god sake, you are desperate to be loved your former colonial masters. Just be honest with the man. GREEKS CYPRIOTS DO NOT GIVE TWO HOOTS ABOUT THE BRITISH, OR FOR THAT MATTER GERMANS, ITALIANS , FRENCH, CHINESE, VENETIANS, OR AND EVEN VENUSIANS. The days of tugging the forelock to our "betters" is long gone, well maybe not quite disappeared with Mr. M?
If you can accept that, then a very pleasant life in Cyprus awaits you.

We can see that those actions do not reflect on many (hopefully most) British people. This is why nobody will be judged negatively simply because of his nationality.

So it really doesn't matter where you are coming from and what you are. If you show respect to Cypriots you will receive respect in return from them.

THE FACTS ARE :
Cyprus is part of the wider International community , a member of the United Nations and a full member of the European Union. It is recognised by all nations with the exception of Turkey , Alexander the Pain In The Arse ,
and Lysi the Incomparable warrior. Cyprus as a responsible nation cares very much about the image it projects
to the British , the Italians , the Germans and to all other nations. The people who do not give two hoots are generally self opinionated immature , lacking the vision to see beyond their noses , most drive bmws incidentally and race each other on the roads of Cyprus , not giving two hoots who gets in their way. I don't know this obnoxious character but I bet he is either an accountant , or an estate agent , no more that 30 and full of manure .
Forgot to mention that most probably he is overweight and prides himself on his appearance.
Seriously though deep down I do like him .....

You really should focus on my posts; I know you have probably forgotten the start of the sentence once you have arrived at the full stop, but it will help you in penning a decent riposte. I am quite disappointed in you, all I seem to get back is the lame vitriol of a remedial educated Taxi driver.
