Hey, EOKA was never an organisation to ethnically cleanse the Turkish Cypriots, it was a struggle for independence from the British. The only times when TC's and GC's fought each other during the EOKA period was when the British used a soley TC unit in an attempt to crush EOKA, thus putting the GC's agains't the TC's, something they wanted. The TC's that joined the force, joined because of low employment, it was simply a job for them, they did not intentinally want to fight the GC's. Plus they were encouraged by the TC elite (Ie, Rauf Denktash).

Again the source for this information come's from the book, "From the east:conflict and partition in Cyprus" a book I deff recommend!

Peace!! (",) :D

natty, we did not have to defend our village under the orders of the english army...we had to defend the village under the threat of marching EOKA militia...

another thing is, how do u think EOKA were going to execute ENOSIS? with TCs on the island??? are we really that naive that we believe this was going to happen all willy nilly?

Kartal, EOKA was formed to fight the British off the island.
EOKA B's objective was ENOSIS. They did have different objetives.

Well then you must accept that we who know about because we learned about it in school do know the difference and we know that one of the two are considered traitors even by the GC.

You would be right if we were only taught about how great it was. But they taught us both the good and bad. They didnt try hide what happened with EOKA B they emphasized on it and how bad it was. Now if you just hate being who you are you can just doubt everything but, I find that I can sift through everything I learned in school and tell between whats correct and whats propaganda. It seems cypezokyli you just hate everything you were taught no?
