Hi guys, I'm back again after a very long absence from the site.

I was banned for reasons I've yet to completeley grasp and all I remember was supporting a fellow forumite in his request to display the TRNC flag as his avatar. (Incase you didn't know, free speech isn't confined to just words, but images too). Apparently the admin found the flag to be offensive!

I still stand by my argument that the TRNC flag should be allowed in here for three very important reasons:

1) Freedom of speech

2) Posting a flag in CF doesn't mean recognition of a state. Not by the members, not by the admin and DEFINATLEY not by the RoC. A picture on a website means.... there's a picture on a website, that's it!

3) If I was in a Turkish forum (and please understand that Turkey is a country with 80 million population!), would i like it if they banned me for showing the flag of the Republic of Cyprus? Turkey doesn't recognize Cyprus at all and the situation is identical, but reversed!


Anyway, I'm glad I've been un-banned but I won't thank anyone for it!

I still find it sad and disturbing that people are getting banned for linking to other forums. And I'm pretty sure I'll get banned if I support another TRNC flag poster. Whatever happens I'll keep screenshots and present my argument to the heads of CYPRUS-NET if i have to. Some people have already gone to CYPRUSNET at it's booth in the Cyprus state fair and complained!

Anyway, It's good to be back and be able to contribute again.

Hello,

People are free to post any image they would like (including the flag of "TRNC") as long as doing so complies with our rules. Many people have posted the flag of "TRNC" and non of them has been banned because of this.

What I didn't agree was to host the "TRNC" flag on our own servers.

Members can be banned only if they violate the rules. The 3 usual reasons that members (including you) were banned in the past were:

1) Spamming - Trying to use our forum as a platform to advertise and promote products and websites.

2) Trying to intentionally harm our forum

3) Repeatedly violating the rules of our forum and ignoring the warnings.

NOBODY was ever banned for supporting the "TRNC"!

Feel free to contribute and express your opinion within the limits of our rules. If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the administrator and/or moderators, not to the boards (as per our rule).
