Richard B..........I didn’t say the ROC courts were illegal just this particular case might be.........the law states that a person should be served with a summons in the language he/she understands (this summons was I am led to believe served to Mrs Orams completely in the Greek Language, which she cant read much less understand the legal aspect of the content) this did not allow Mrs Orams time to prepare a full defence before she was hauled into court. That’s what makes it illegal......due process of law was not followed...............................

People up and down the country (Cyprus) are waiting to see who will be the beneficiaries of this ruling........but take a look at this little gem below and tell me who that might be?

I am Turkish Cypriot. My family had 97 acres of land in Pervolia which was recommisioned by the Greek Cypriots and then sold on as Luxury Villas to foreigners. No one in my family claimed any land in the north. This case is riddiculous. If the Greek Cypriots win then my family can sue each of the 40 individuals who broght on my families land and then as we did not have Turkish Land in the north, and we brought apartments when we got married etc. on old greek land. Then we can also be sued? Is a BIG mess and this needs a political solution.

Kerez , you are no doubt a very young man , and all of your information has been handed to you second hand. There no angels or demons in Cyprus. The Greek and Turkish Cypriots belong to Cyprus and they own Cyprus together.You must see the complexity of the matter , Turkey is an occupying power and is seen as such by the vast majority of Cypriots. Until all Cypriots come to realize that the best thing to do with the past 32 years is to bury them and try for a solution that the overwhelming majority of Cypriots find reasonably acceptable.
The "TRNC " will remain isolated for ever , the International forums will not recognise a nation created by invasion.Turkey would not annexe THE OCCUPIED PART , EUROPE WONT HAVE IT.THE REALITY IS WE ONLY HAVE ONE SOLUTION. a united Cyprus independent of Greece and Turkey providing security and peace to all Cypriots.

I can agree with that to a point and thanks for the compliment as at 45 i feel like a young man but do not confuse that knowing the truth of what happened and what you said above.

You are lying. Plain and simple. Scan and upload your title deeds, I challenge you.

RoC has not sold any TC land to anybody. Not even our refugees were given title deeds.

IT WAS DONE BY SCRUPOLOUS GC BUSINESS MEN AND GOVERMENT OFFICIALS AND IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION AS WE SPEAK FURTHER TO MANY COMPLAINTS AND AS I AM LED TO UNDERSTAND THE MORE THEY DIG THE MORE CRIMINALITIES HAVE BEEN FOUND.

Ive just spent the last hour searching the ECHR website and cannot find any info either in judged cases or pending cases regarding this. Perhaps you would be so good as to give me more info so i can comment further

if you really believe no turkish land has been used you must be off your trollies, most of Emba and Chlorakas is built on it..

I do have T/C property to look after since the 80's. I cannot sell to anyone nor I have deeds for them but have spent lots of money in it ........on a happier note the T/C legal owner can have it back any time as long as I can have mine back..... as simple as that. This property is not mine and it will never feel mine.

unique_earthing , to the best of my knowledge no T/C land has been issued with title deeds a prerequisite of any property transaction . Do you know of a specific area in the villages you mention , Emba and Chlorakas , two villages less than 6 miles from where I was born. Should this be the case I will most certainly take it up with the relative authorities and they will respond to me , I promise you.
It would help also if you would also confirm your sources of information concerning this illegality. Do you know the demographics of these two villages prior to 1974 , perhaps I can enlighten you as to the precise recorded spilt .

yes enlighten me Miltiades, i am always eager to learn the truth of things. And i dont know about whether there is title deeds. but i will find out more.

I dont think anyone said no TC land in the South has not been used; lots of it has been allocated to Refugees, some of whom may have built houses on it. The point is the new 'inhabitants' cannot sell the land, it remains the property of thr original TC owner.

If you drive round Paphos, you will see several abandoned green house areas. All very sad.
