If you are such an expert, perhaps you would like to explain to everyone here how you train a cat not to wander?

I cannot believe you can condone the murder of peoples pets for wandering into someones garden...

IT IS ILLEGAL, it is illegal for a reason, it is not illegal for a cat to walk accross someones lawn to persue a mouse/lizard/bird...

Why do they lay this poison in public places? A child could get it on their hands before eating and then die....

I dont give a toss how many years you lived in cyprus for, it makes no odds, law breaking is law breaking... These people are CRIMINALS plain and simple... Murdering animal hating criminals... There is no way you can transfer the blame as I am not doing anything illegal THEY ARE...

Now unless IQ's dropped sharply in recent years I am right and you are wrong...

Just typical of the attitude most cypriots have towards others pets

You know what, just as you have a right to your opinion I do also. I havent called you any names but you have called me an idiot. Thank you very much for that. That is a personal attack and I am hoping you will at least be warned to respect others.
On a different note, I never said I condone people poisoning pets. I am very much against it. You just read what you want to read. Maybe I dont know as much about cats as a lot of people do, but I do know I see indoor cats all the time. Maybe you should read a couple of books on it instead of throwing a hissy fit and being absolutely rude to everyone.
Also I never said you are doing anything illegal, but you ARE responsible for your own pets. Your pets are your responsibility like your children would be. I am not the one who is going to tell you how to make it so they dont get poisoned. You are the one to figure it out and train them in that regard. It is sad if you dont like it, but that is how it goes.

Andri

To keep a cat indoors is cruel and people who cannot let them be out in their natural environment occassionally have no right to keep cats.

When you have cats you take on all the natural instincts that come with them including exloring. You know yourself that you cannot make your children do as you want you just have to watch them all the time to make sure their curiosity doesn't cause harm. Of course to do this with cats is impossible.

The point of this post is to criticise the incredibly cruel people who kill defenceless animals - even in their own gardens. They take advantage of the naturally curious instincts by dropping poison into their own territory so even the carefully controlled dogs aren't safe.

Nikki, understand me when I say I understand completely. I have lost pets to various causes and I know how hard it is. I also understand how it might be cruel to leave them inside. But I think it is better than them dying no?

It may be possible to keep a cat indoors in an apartment but not in a house - especially during the summer when doors and windows are open and kids are running in and out.

I guess the answer is not to have cats which is not good because the people who kill animals have won! Maybe not even dogs?

My children would be heartbroken to leave their pets behind. When we move to Cyprus I will just have to be careful about the neighbours we are with.

Here here.

I agree that keeping cats in is quite cruel.
My dogs never go out on their own, except in my own garden and we all know in Cyprus, that is not even safe. I regulary check my garden to make sure none of those evil b*****ds has thrown anything in. :x

Maybe if some of you installed cameras on the outside of your homes and caught them doing it, you could actually get somewhere with the police-especially if they are putting poisoned stuff in YOUR yard.

Thats exactly what I am talking about. It wasnt a compliment. It is called sarcasm. Animals dont care if you are smart or not though which is good for you.
