Great news (for me) from Cyprus Airways

Postby ecpersonals » Thu Jun 01, 2006 2:24 pm

Well i wanted to come to CY arround the 14-th of June and as much as i tried, i got a price of about 206 GBP for a return.

I called CY to see if i can get their 128+tax GBP offer but they said thats a 10- months in advance booking....

But then i told them i really only need one way ticket since i am moving to Cyprus, (but as you all know One Way used to cost more than a two way). But since last month he said that one ways are 122 GBP including taxes! So that made my day!

I never thought of booking oneway, it seems obvious but I really beleived they were more expensive. They used to be... i tried last year and they were 300 one way!

So i'm happy today :-)

Unfortunately I'm still to-ing and fro-ing three or four times a year & the airfares are getting expensive.

Booked with the Eurocypria side of C/Airways. Got a fantastic price for a 6 week return. Cannot fault this airline, or Cyprus Airways. Have used them a few times and always managed to get reasonable prices.

I travelled out on the Thursday flight from Heathrow which stops at Brussels. Couldn't see any problem about that, but it meant I was served the worse meal I have ever had on Cyprus Airways, it was loaded from Brussels. I have always been satisfied, and often highly delighted with the CY food and that flight was the first one I had to complain. Beware when there is a stop on journey.

When I flew back in April there was a group of I think orthadox Jews eating Kosher meal that looked good. Think I'll request that next time!!

We have started using British Airways. Their fares are usually pretty good, depending on the time of year and day of the week, and at the moment food and drink are complimentary. Unfortunately they are going to start charging for food and drink on-board in September (I think!). Only direct flights we can get are into Paphos, but that's our nearest airport when we are in Cyprus anyway. Don't like having to change planes - makes the journey too long!
