House sharing?

Postby ecpersonals » Wed May 31, 2006 5:32 pm

Hi guys,

I will be coming to cyprus in June but this year i was thinking of renting a house 3/4 bedrooms and housesharing longterm.

I was just wondering how common housesharing is in Cyprus and what the rent is like in Limassol/Germasogia. I am thinking about £250-300 per bedroom.

And do agents there rent out on multi-tenancy aggreements like in the UK? Or would i have to take it on my name.

Thanks

Considering you can rent a whole house for around £300 a month  I don't think you will have many takers at £250 to £300 per room

Apart from Eastern European and sir lankan workers on very low wages I can't see a need for house sharing as the rents on flats and houses are quite low.

I wish you luck -- you will need it

Yes i made that post before doing my research..., i have since found houses for 3-400 pounds. Might go for one if i can't get a mortgage to buy something.

The advantage of sharing is that you can get a bigger place and its more fun to share....

Actually, I agree with ecpetsonals. Live on my own paying 50% of my wages just on rent, then of course you get electric bills, water bills, Internet bills as well as food. Sharing halves the bills and you get somebody to have a laugh with.

Might start advertising myself for a flatmate!

Read your lease you may find that you cannot sublet!! In which case you will be putting your tenancy at risk.....

I thought about that and i would definitly bring it up at the time but i am sure you can if you don't make any profit off it.

I live in Potamos yermasoyias right across from KOT entrance.

You can find 2 bedroom apartments for 300 per month in this area and you will also have the opportunity to dine with me every now and then.....

alternatively you can joint me in sharing at some stage if you cannot find anything else.

Of course provided that i havent found anyone else by then.
