Can I just say to all those Cypriots who are genuinely committed to Cyprus's independence , unification , removal of all foreign troops , and the establishment of a new Cyprus for all Cypriots with mutual respect for each ether's human rights to start by acknowledging that they are Cypriots first and foremost and not bloody foreigners pretending to be Cypriots .The flags of Turkey and Greece are not the flags of Cyprus. Can you not see that the continuing exhibit of such stupid rags will only create more divisions within our communities. What purpose does any one have in mind in such displays other than sticking two fingers up to the other and boasting about their respective " motherlands" For fuck sake wake up , those who need to be Turkish Mainland or Greek mainland are the fucking reasons our island was firstly invaded and secondly divided , storing problems for generations to come.
LONG LIVE CYPRUS AND CYPRIOTS - BE PROUD TO BE A CYPRIOT .

Wow, I am very proud to see such commitments in here. The program that is going to be broadcasted on the 13th of June is going to bring some more confusion to average people in UK, that´s for sure.

On the other hand, something unstopable is happening here. Something that you would be hearing more from me as well as others in the near future. Something not many people is realizing according to my enquiries in my recent visits to the beautifully gifted island of Cyprus.

Neither GC nor TCs are giving the importance this deserve. In a word, Europe.

You just witnessed what the power of a few commited people from a forum can do.

Just wait a little more and you will see what 200 million informed people can do as well:)

To me, is obvious. That will be a new presure for the Government of Turquie, never imagined. Nobody is going to accept an ocuppied territory with the hability to sale properties in there. Business come first. Cyprus is part of Europe now and there will be a huge change because, us, Europeans are expecting to do anything including business according to the same rules as in the rest of the territory.

Troops will go out of Cyprus because they are illegal.
Settlers will go for the same reason.

Wheter Settlers will be compesated or not will depend on negotiation.
Deeds appartening to GC as well to TC in the South, are in the Land Registry. I am afraid that this is not going to come as the first issue to resolve even if it is the most important part for many. It will depend on negotiation and in what way, Europe as a whole would be favorized.

This is 2006 not 1974. What is happening today is simply unacceptable, doesn´t matter how it started. That is how they intend to solve the problem. There is a hurry as well for that to be.

Well, I may be wrong or to optimiste. But I am sure that this is coming to a turning point at last. You cannot expect the rest of the world moving and Cyprus stuck in the past.

Btw. I am Spanish and I can tell that for the first time in 35 years there is a huge debate going on about this matter. Same in the rest of Europe.
Before, we were in the dark, I think you all know why and there is not point in reminding it.

It is the lack of information the only weapon the Turkish Government has had and still sustain to carry on its dirty trick.

This is just my modest opinion. There is nothing personal in it at all. It is a very simplistic political analize if anything.

Also, I still have a lot to read in this forum to know what´s the real general feeling.

Good luck.

Best regards

Hey Julio, welcome to the 2 sided forum that debates, with a lot of passion.
We hit dead ends all the time. We haven't agreed on anything constructive in over 32 years. Even if the world wasn't blinded by the Cyprus problem,(because of Turkey being a superpower), it wouldnt concern them. They would just turn their shoulders anyway. Its a natural reaction, if they have no history there. Im not even sure if they use the Cyprus issue in Universities for debates because to debate, you have to go by human norms to call it a debate.
Enjoy reading everyones perceptions on the problem. You have to dissect the facts on your own. Good luck.

Hey,
You made a point very interesting there.
You say people is not motivated outside. But this is just my claim.
We are now, and for good.
The reason is a feeling that you may not understand yet. But every one I speak with from my country seems more and more interested and they are eager to know every little detail. And they are are not put away because of the diversity of people, countries or interests involved. We like that and this is the time of information.
It will take a while, of course and the debate will be growing in a piramidal way, but the moment it reack the bars, that's it.

Now, Cyprus people are more our brothers than ever.

We do have huge common interest that didn't exist before.
I don't think people is going to close their eyes anymore.

Motivation existes and for good.

Just have some faith. We are a lot.

Cheers

Back to my offending post. Are you saying that I am wrong in pointing the finger of blame at you guys for all that has happened over the last 46 years? Do you believe we are the villains and you the victims?
