Miltiadis,

Let me tell you something. Anybody that gives me s**t I'll give ten times back. My opinions are mine and nobody can take that from me, especially retards like GROWUPTC. You may think why sink to his level, well, why not? He wants to offend me I'll very happily offend back.

Back to my offending post. Are you saying that I am wrong in pointing the finger of blame at you guys for all that has happened over the last 46 years? Do you believe we are the villains and you the victims?

Arent we all Cypriots? We are you guys pointing the finger at each other. Turkey invaded and whatever the excuses or the reasons they should have left a long time ago. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their homes, a lot of people died and a bunch are missing because of YOUR motherlands full scale attack and you want to blame the people who have lost the most? And then you want to talk about how we can write the queen and all that bull crap? Have you no feelings about what happened to people? About all the women that were raped in front of their husbands that were kept alive long enough to watch their wives get raped and then they were killed in front of them? yes I am sure that those women and children are the villains. I mean WTF. Get a grip man.

Both the Greeks and the Turkish Cypriots were pawns in the game of nationalistic balderdash. A reasonable opinion must be looked at from both sides of the coin. The Turkish Cypriots as well as the Greek Cypriots must be wise enough to appreciate the other sides' situation . Asking me a question such as " Do you believe we are the villains and you the victims? " is not an appropriate question that people such as my self that are dedicated to the peaceful solution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of our land ought to be asked since our position is well known .Certain realities must be faced , there are 200000 of your compatriots who were forced to abandon their ancestral homes and become refugees in their country. There are 120000 Turkish Cypriots who were made to feel inferior in their own country and who were subjected to fear and their feelings were ignored since they were seen by the majority as "not belonging in Cyprus " Both communities MUST FACE UP TO REALITY BY RENOUNCING THE FOREIGN "MOTHERLANDS " and embrace their Nation , Cyprus.

Andry,
You are a young person, I don't expect you to say any different. The older generation, the over the fifties of both sides know better. I lived the days of unrest in Cyprus, where were you?

Mrfrom I am sorry that I exploded on you but sometimes like you I become human. I guess what I was trying to say is that I dont think TC's or GC's are the villains per se. I think that outside powers like both Greece and Turkey are responsible for a lot of what happened. And we will never get anywhere unless we stop trying to point fingers at other Cypriots. I just said it all wrong. Now I have been up since 5 am thanks to my 4 year old and I will go nap or I will kill my husband and then the neighbors. :P . I will talk to you later.

On Tuesday 30th May at 8.00 pm Channel 5 intend to show a programme "Property Developing Abroad: Northern Cyprus" stating in the TV guides "Nottingham couple Carl and Jane buy an abandoned property in northern Cyprus, hoping to increase its value by £20,000 in 10 weeks. Presented by Gary McCausland".

Abandoned property?? Why they don't say the truth which is "Abandoned at gun point and still illegally occupied"?

And of course its value will "increase". They are getting it cheap because it is stolen. If they pretend that this property is legal then they can pretend that its value has increased.

But then I hope they will not blame GCs when they will lose their whole investment and face the penalties for their illegal action.

You will have to hold off until the 20th July to state that as a fact, if it doesnt blow up in your faces. Taking this issue to court and the decision going against you will cause another property boom in the north. The interest will sky rocket, is that what you wanted??

There was an article in the local paper about this property. It was a former health centre, not a privately owned house. I believe its more of a "before and after" renovation story, rather than a "come and get cheap properties" story. However only time will tell if it encourages more people to buy in North Cyprus. There was a programme last night on BBC prime about buying and selling in the UK, my partner commented that its no surprise that people are dazzled by cheap properties here, when a 3 bed terrace fetches over 250k - and a 3/4 bed villa here with pool is half that amount!!!
I wont be watching it (no access) but look forward to comments from members who do.

Piratis,

this is the truth as you know it. Can you not accept the fact that different people will have different opinions as to what the truth really is? You as a GC feel feel bitter and angry at the outcome of the events of 63-74 and that's understandable. I on the other hand will forever feel grateful for Turkeys intervention knowing that had they not done so I with the rest of the TC's would not be here to tell the story.
=======================================

Hi Andry,

Thank you very much for your kind post. I hope the little one is well and will not keep you awake much for longer. I know from myself, as a father we can be damn useless when it comes to helping our wives with the kids or around the house. Trust me you are not own your own with this problem. If your husband is of Greek origin then it is typical for him to believe it is the mothers duty to cook, clean and look after the kids, this is common to us Turks too, and probably the vast majority of the male population.

I regret what I wrote to GROWUPTC, I should not have responded to his post immediately after reading it, I should have given myself time to calm down. Anyway whats done is done. I have now decided I will wait and calm down before I respond to offending posts. Sorry if you and other members especially Militadis was offended, I promise I will not re offend.

Good luck with the little one, God be with you.
