What Happens After Kofi Annan Steps Down?

Postby reportfromcyprus » Mon May 29, 2006 10:42 am

The last UN plan didn't go down too well with the GC community.

What happens when Kofi Annan steps down December 31st 2006, and do you think there will be any substantive changes in the various positions taken by the EU, UN, Cyprus government & Turkey before he steps down?

Kofi Annan is just a figure.

The plan that was placed in the referenda has his name however probably he didn't write a single page in it. UN stuff did this job. And the ones that ordered this plan were the Anglo Americans.

So nothing will happen when he steps down. Thats the least from our worries.

When did he declare that? Do you have a reputable source on this?

The Secretariat -- an international staff working in duty stations around the world -- carries out the diverse day-to-day work of the Organization. It services the other principal organs of the United Nations and administers the programmes and policies laid down by them. At its head is the Secretary-General, who is appointed by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the Security Council for a five- year, renewable term.
