What Happens After Kofi Annan Steps Down?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I didn't read about any voting in your quote. It says "is appointed by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the Security Council". So the GA doesn't really have any choice. And are you sure that the SC members vote?

ofcource the GA can (theoretically) always reject the SC proposal. and then the SC has to propose a new one

in the SC (and after the cold war) they bargain before they vote. there is no sence in putting sth for a vote , unless all the P5 and at least nine members agree.

all i am trying to say is that the phrase "behind the scenes" , does not mean sth undemocratic

Posted more info about this issue on today's reportfromcyprus.com. The Security Council and the Assembly work together to choose the candidate, each member state can submit a candidate, the candidate doesn't have to come from the member state (nationality doesn't matter).

The process is apparently transparent.

And who doesn’t? The question is what does he do to achieve a solution? Arresting GC people who visit the occupied every day to show off that he is a "state"? Rejecting all our proposals on the technical committees that have not even been formed yet? Or going to Turkey presenting himself as the President of a pseudo state and fooling the International Federation of Formula1 races, and hadlimg over the cup to the winner? Or his refusal to discuss anything other than parameters of the Anan Plan which has already been rejected at the referrendum?

This guy imo does not even know what he wants, all he knows is just talk talk talk and zero action.

I said many times that Talat is worse than Denktash. How is that? Well Denktash did not want a solution and he knew how to get it. Talat wants a solution but he doesn’t know how to get it.

So he simply does whatever Ankara tells him. They tell him "we will be you known, we will make the whole world see you and recognise you", and he beleives that nonsense and he goes like a little stupid pupply to Turkey to deliver the formula race cup….. I even noticed the confussion in his face while handling the cup. Well Talat mou, you need some brain implanted.
As for the TCs some more decades of isolation until they find a leader who knows how to get them a solution, ain’t something they are uncustomed with.

till 2007 greece is member of SC and probably will use it.

The most probable is that the next GS of UN will be an american.
