morhekil wrote:do you mean downloading them for long, to constantly eat away their bandwidth? Dunno, seems that they're mostly targeting HTTP users and it will be limited by 1mbit anyway.
But - it's damn hard to get anything meaningful from those bastards. They even block outgoing smtp connections (to prevent from spamming, yeah) so I had to find a friend of mine inside and asked them to open for me some mailservers those don't have smtp-over-ssl or whatever else not at port 25. And their support guy was plain dumb - asked me to check my settings in Outlook 3 or 5 times. Even my wife started to laugh like hell here while I was on the line with that talking monkey.
And the same friend confirmed to me that they can not guarantee to me non-http bandwidth and there's nothing he can do about it. Wish I'd stuck with Cyta and Wavespeed.

You can always move again to an area which is covered by CableNet and get the best broadband available. CableNet internet connectivity runs on WaveSpeed infrastucture..

Guys you need to relax. Primetel is out of bandwidth for now because there are a LOT of customers coming everyday.
Primetel didn't expect that much, new uplinks are coming soon and will cover all needs. from next week additional STM1 (155megs) will be available. and more later.

Regarding the penalties thats done by automatic traffic shaper to save bandwidth.(which is kind a stupid by my opinion. I download a lot)

morhekil send greetings to Warda (big bro always watching you heh) 8)

I'm waiting for 21 days already, PrimeTel manager told me installation will take no more than 3 weeks, but today she said I must wait for another 1-2 weeks.

Why people do stuff so slow on Cyprus? :x It takes 1-2 days to get ADSL connection in Russia, for example. You even can install modem yourself and get connection in a hour after you sign the contract.

AlSob, believe it or not, its actually not Primetels fault. Unfortunately, its CyTA who delay the process of porting numbers over or installing new lines. Primetel don't like it and its not something within their control.

I have the package indoors, and I'm happy with it. Believe me, you will be pleased you got it as well. Out of curiousity, which package did you opt for?

I've used PrimeHome in rented appartments and I know they have good connection if you ask for better priority, but those installation delays are killing me.

I chose 1 Mbit ADSL + TV package.
