THIS IS OUTRAGOUS! AND THIS IS PLAGIARISM! I INSIST THAT THE MODERATOR OF THIS FORUM DEMANDS FROM BANANIOT TO GIVE THE LINK TO THE GREEK LANGUAGE POST, THAT (ON PAGE 7) HE CLAIMS WAS WRITTEN BY ME, OTHERWISE HIS POST BE DELETED AND HE BE WARNED PUBLICLY NOT TO REPEAT SUCH AN INSIDIOUS ACT!

For your information I NEVER use "tonismo" (=accenting on vowels) when I write Greek. And you can verify this from ALL my Greek posts at www.apopsi.com which is he only Greek forum I ever participated! The post quoted by Bananiot uses" tonismo" on all vowels without exception!

Second, I cannot even understand the line of thought of the post that Bananiot claims was written by be.

I would say that after a solution, many of the settlers will face hostility and they will probably leave for other parts of the EU. Many will quite possibly leave anyway as they will have an EU 'ticket'.

You may well ask why don't we be more open on this subject but the problem is you are not dealing with a small % of people. If the settlers number 120000 lets say then that is 15% of the population currently in Cyprus!

The humane way would be to allow those that have been on the island for many years to have the choice to stay as thay have lived long enough here to feel Cypriot, but those that are here as economic migrants with the prospect of getting rich quick off other people land and property should be given the financial incentive to leave.

Coming up with the wishy washy argument that we should be more accepting is a road to knowhere, or in this case a road to another disaster in the future.

I totaly agree with you -mikkie-2 ... This is the most moderate and reasonable approach on this issue... I second...

Thanks Insan.

I think this idea of quotas on the number that will stay is ridiculous. I recon many people on that list probably don't even live in Cyprus!

Bananiot,

If I was you I would post a link to the post that MicAtCyp took offense to. On other forums I have to say that MicAtCyp has been consistent in his arguments so I can understand why he is so angry.

Here's your link mikkie

I also think that it is quite normal for people to change their minds. There is nothing wrong with this. Making a complete U turn however is not just a change of mind, I think.

Ok, I get it. I did not say that MikAtCyp wrote the greek text. This is what I said:

"I am compelled to repeat what he included in a thread in a greek language forum just prior to the referendum regarding the issue of the settlers"

In his thread he included a text that he found interesting, obviously. He has done this many times in order to press a point home.

Bananiot,

Thanks for the link.

I have to say, that in that post, MicAtCyp did not say whether he agreed or disagreed with the included text. He merely put it forward as a discussion point. How you can extrapolate from that that he agreed 100% with it I really don't know.

To use it as a way to show a U turn by MicAtCyp is very tenuous indeed!

Unless he himself has made a clear cut comment to the contrary, I don't think you can make the accusation!

He has never challenged any point of the article he wanted us to read. In fact in the greek language forum he is a different man altogether. Perhaps he has changed his mind. That's alright he is entitled to.
