Why didn't Greece defend Cyprus in 1974?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Should Greece have gone to war with Turkey in 1974?

hi hassan and welcome to the forum

the "if" questions are kind of dangerous bc they always involve too much speculation. we would be lucky if we ever know exactly what happened. getting into what would have happened makes no sense imo

That's plain moronic. You are not only a dumb nationalist, but a homophobic idiot as well.

νομίζω πως βρήκαμε και το γκόμενο, εσύ τον έφρες εδω?

I do not consider being called a gay an insult, in the same way I would not consinder being called black or jew an insult.

Let this twisted homophobic moron, who seems to just to have emerged from the middle ages, continue to derive personal "satisfaction" by referring to people's sexual preferences in GREEK. It is harmless, I do not want to take this "pleasure" away from him.

Too much brainwashing hasan115.In 1974 Turkish fascism met Greek fascism but the problem
is that the greek fascism was buried in Cyprus and the Turkish fascism coming up till our days.
Your problem is thay you think that you did something glorious.
Border dont change without the approval the US andiministration
I suggest to read the book of Mehmet Ali Birand <30 sicak gun>.
The answer <Why didn't Greece defend Cyprus in 1974> is that Turkey had the approval of US administsration
and everyting were preordain.
Ionannidis knew that (after so many years never spoke about this)(still in prison).
After with Karamanlis goverment it was too late.
Turks were so confused in the begining where their aircafts were shooting their fleet (Cotzantebe).
In Alikarnassos there were roomers that greek army were landing and the city were evacuated for two nights.
Well so brave situation.
Every body knew in the head quarter that in mersina the were qathering army.
Two sub marines were enough to stop everything in 1974.
two times the took order to go in the frontier and both times they took back the order
All the crew were shouting and they were ready to revolt but they lied to them that everything is ok
Unfortunelly Hellinism were govern by junta.
And the value of Turkey for US interest were higher than cyprus.
