Do you consider Greece responsible for what happened in 74?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Do you consider Greece responsible for what happened in 74?

No I do not consider the whole country of Greece responsible. They were having their own problems at the time. I think SOME Greeks are responsible(see Junta) but you cant blame the whole country or their real government for it.

Greece gave the excuse that Turkey was waiting for. So Greece is responsible also.

Your question is too general and enigmatic. First of all, for which Greece are we talking about? The one represented by a democratically elected government, or the one misrepresented by a bunch of fascist colonels that ceased power via a violent coup d’etat and kept it against the will and in the expense of the Greek people, by relying on foreign (US) “crutches” and deriving strength and support from the CIA “special warfare” department? Which Greece should we blame, the one appointed by the Greek people or the one appointed via force by foreign centers?

Secondly, consider Greece responsible for what in 1974? For the whole of the 1974 events? For the Coup d’etat against Makarios? For the Turkish invasion and the ethnic cleansing of the G/Cs from the northern part of their country? For the usurping of their properties and the ongoing up to this day occupation of the north by Turkey?

It will be good if you explain us where you would like to lead us with the above question.

You guys amaze me. Its a simple question with an equally simple answer. Would Turkey have "invaded" Cyprus if Greece hadn't started the coup? Would the island have been divided? Would you have lost your land and property? If you cant accept the fact that Greece and Greece alone is responsible for what happened in 74 then you are simply living in denial.

Frog Greece didnt start the coup. Some Greek people did. So no it is not a simple question. They were also being attacked in their own ranks by the coupists. Some Greeks ARE responsible of course for big parts of what happened. But you cant blame Greece as a country for what some rebels did. On the other hand, the Turkish troops came under the command of their legally democratically elected government. So I wouldnt fo there.

Andry, just do a google for the legality of Turkeys intervention and see for yourself if the international community accept it as legal or illegal.

Yes you might have a point in defending Greece as a whole, but the reality is that the people responsible were true representatives of this country. No?

btw, whats with the frog? My sig is mrfromng how do you come up with frog, Prince yes but frog, I DONT THINK SO.
