I am a citizen of the Republic of Cyprus and my birthplace is Istanbul. In all of my Republic of Cyprus IDs and passport it says my birthplace is Istanbul not Constantinople. If Cypriot government accepts it as Istanbul I guess you need to accept it as Istanbul too.

You are NOT a citizen of anything with a beginning , middle or ending with Cyprus associated with it. Perhaps a holiday tourist on an illegal permament basis if you like :) Or even perhaps an illegal immigrant / alien / tresspasser.

I can assure you once the Cyprus problem is in good hands , because as far as I have seen nobody in our government can handle the stressfull load of the Cyprus problem on their hands , you will be taken back to a place where you can call yourself a "citizen".

If this is your way of winding me up...then I might as well rename myself to "time bomb" and let you wind me more :)

Heres a little freestyle poem for you since we both have lyrics'n'verses in common...

They day we meet eye to eye
I not so bad of a guy
I wouldnt want you to die

We've been passed the guilty wars
Now the image is in the past
Opening up peacefull doors

And kicking you back to citizen city
with a shiny boot colored with a cyprus flag
and all your clothes in hand in a cyprus bag

All with the love and respect
of a cypriot that wants whats his
please dont take this as a diss
im just about to put you correct

Thank you ,

and have a wonderful and colourfull day

Complexity I really wonder If I scan and show you my RoC ID will you accept that you are mistaken? I am as citizen as you are my friend.

forgive my original stance. I am a very easy going person IRL. And political/racial/gender discretions are not a reflect to my character.

The song is actually older than mid-eighties. They Might Be Giants covered an original "Four Lads" song from the fifties.

I love Istanbul/Constantinople but this fantasy of some for it to return to Greek control is laughable.

One mainland Turkish friend of mine told me that Greece is welcome to it. But when the population of Istanbul joins with the population of Greece Turks will outnumber Greeks (Istanbul and the environs around the Sea of Marmara contain about 20million people - Greece has around 12 million). Which language to speak then? As he put it, it would be a relatively peaceful way for Turkey to regain its lands lost since the 1820s!!
