The "final destination" for Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Viewpoint » Tue May 09, 2006 2:57 pm

Piratis
What I "sow" is being a law obeying citizen, respecting the human and democratic rights of others. What are you sowing? I hope you are getting ready to reap.

I am also a law abiding citizen who pays his taxes and respects democratic rights of others who live within my country recognized or not. Save us your normal rhetoric which is you dont exist so you are lawless but thats something you have to come to terms with not me. I am already reeping what I deserve which is a good life for me and famiy, I have no complaints.

So what are you saying Piratis we don't need to get around a table anymore??

If you think that what you deserve is to enjoy the Greek Cypriot properties that were stolen by performing ethnic cleansing you are very wrong. You do not deserve that. As you said: "you reep what you sow". What you sow now and over the last 32 years is nothing more than illegalities and crimes. I hope you realize what the fruits of such actions will be.

So what are you saying Piratis we don't need to get around a table anymore??

If you agree that we will get around a table to agree on how we will make Cyprus a democratic country with respect of human rights and with no racist discriminations then most definitely we should.

If however nothing has changed, and on the table you will ask what you have always asked so far: human rights violations, demands to be gifted land that does not belong to you etc, then no. No self respecting person would sit and discuss on the ways that human rights will be violated.

Why don't you give us your "viewpoint" for what should be the final destination for Cyprus Viewpoint? With which points that were raised so far do you agree and with which you disagree?

Can you explain what the ROC Government has "sown" in way of a settlement and do you expect anything to grow from these things which have been "sown"?

Hello people

Forgive my ignorance but, having been away from Cyprus some years, I have not been in touch with public opinion regarding a Cyprus solution. But I have read headlines in some papers and heard opinions of some individuals that now that the Annan Plan is "dead" and the "only option" now is partition. But perhaps these are just sensational headlines?

Could whoever is reading this either confirm or reject the truth of these claims? Additionally, I would be happy to know the opinions of the members about Reunification, Partition, and the Big Fish who may be shaping our opinions and our destinies (ie the Politicians) for better or worse ....

I am not asking for a long academic debate but a serious and frank one supporting claims with reasons or sources. If some issues are nicely discussed elsewhere in the Forum I'd appreciate if you could point me in the right direction.

so , the above question is pointless if one doesnot have a complete view of where and how we can achieve those goals.

Well said Cypezo this is exactly a valid point . Once BBF was accepted by both sides this should have been the framework and the final goal. At the moment I cant say that we are moving towards this goal or we are going anywhere else!

And the two easiest and most immediately constructive of cypezo's terms are surely:

i want a cyprus where all children will be billingual , and nicosia being the centre of billingual schools
i want a cyprus where the society the media the history books do not create children filled with hate and nationalism.

What exactly is standing in the way of these being achieved?

That would be tres amusant andri - if I was British!

But seriously - what IS stopping the hatred being educated out of CY children (and lets not get into the property thing...we all know where that leads)
