Over the past year, I have sent many tens of e-mails to companies in Cyprus, often asking for quotations, enquiring about services etc.
Most often, I do not receive an answer.
For example, an enquiry about car insurance was sent to 11 companies. I received one answer. Another enquiry for a lap-top sent to 15 companies solicited just two replies.
Last week, I sent out eight enquiries about IT material and services, including a support info request and only one was answered - from England!!! (needless to say, I'm still waiting for the support!).
Can someone inform me which is the reason:
- nobody can read
- nobody can be bothered to read
- nobody knows how to download their e-mails
- nobody can write
- nobody can be bothered to write
- nobody knows how to send e-mails?
Just to compound things, if I phone a company and say that I'm awaiting an answer to an e-mail, I'm inevitably told that it was never received. I'll allow that this may happen once in a blue moon, but this excuse is so frequent that it can only be a blatant lie in most cases.
When are Cypriot companies going to start using e-mail seriously, like their EU partners have been doing for over 10 years?.
