How do we know that the Cyprus Mail is American-funded??

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I'm sure you meant this aswell.

Stuart, unlike you, I have never asked for the punishment of a whole race because of some past events. In fact even for the case of Turkey that have abused GCs for centuries and they continue to do so today, I don't ask for their punishment.

What I ask for is that the human rights violations and illegalities should stop now, so everybody would be able to enjoy his human and democratic rights.

I wouldn't mind if TCs who are the 18% asked for such affirmative action to guarantee that they will not be under-represented, so this is still within the democratic limits. Giving 50% to an 18% community is not.

Piratis, what specific kinds of Affirmative Action can be undertaken?

In the tread about the census in the occupied areas you insisted that this census is "OFICIAL" (you even wrote it with capital letters) and then you went on to excuse the illegal Turkish occupation of Cyprus.

All kinds, to guarantee in an official way that no minority will be under-represented. This can last until suspicions and mistrust become a thing of the past.

I made reference to incidents that happened - I didn't support them or criticise them - and you know it.... I simply pointed out an ironic situation.

And as far as TRNC people are concerned (IRRESPECTIVE of whether TRNC is a legal entity or not - which I have never argued), the census is OFFICIAL, and the results (as far as TRNC people are concerned - doctored, manipulated or not) will be OFFICIAL.

I respect your position as overlord of this particular forum, but you really don't have to feel obliged to nitpick so.

An apology will be accepted.

What you are imposing is an oxymoron because there cannot be anything official from a non existent and unrecognised entity or administartion. So it is only official for those consider it to be eg. Turkey, but for the rest of the world the results will only be an indication or something to chat about but can never be used for the formation of any solution plan.

I will give you an example for you, e.g. If you visit a doctor who is not registered to the state's charter etc etc. he might be using all the correct methods and his job might be even better than a registered one however his medicine perscription would be useless to any of the states pharmacy. Does that make it clear?

Good analogy - I'm glad you've understood.
