For goodness sake mountainman I never said I wanted to live forever. I was just telling kikapu that a lot of cities in the US are banning smoking. If I offended you I am sorry.... NOT :P

Sure I am laughing at my daughter and my dogs as we speak. The dogs are fighting over a bone and my 4 year old thought she needs to fight too...

Fines would be a good idea. I think Cypriots wouldnt accept that very well. They love smoking. It is something that comes with souvla and beer and hardheadedness.

Then we may suggest a death sentence for those who violate the law! How does this sound?

This is a good idea

Yet the Cyprus government , taking its queue from the Greeks in Greece , has basically taken no serious measures what so ever .Im not in any way advocating that an individual should not exercise his /her divine right to smoke as much as he / she likes , that is their choice , but is it mine to breath his poisonous fumes.
There is a Greek or Greek Cypriot musical programme every Saturday
that being a lover of the Laiko Tragoudi , I so much enjoy.Im sure most of you have watched glamorous women as well as men. who appear on this programme , bask in total satisfaction at smoking continually without realizing that so many young people are influenced by their smoking habits. How many of you think that the Government should take a more positive approach by giving an example themselves by at least not smoking in public as many ministers do.

I thought I would ...reproduce my very first thread when I first join the forum as a ....mark of respect to all those that through smoking related deceases have passed away.
I'm pleased that at last , four years after the above post the RoC....relented and introduced a ban on smoking in public places.
In view of a recent thread informing us that some Cypriot politicians smokers are pushing for the ban to be lifted may I say what a bunch of first class Plonkers they all are !
