cyprus people have been innundated and brainwashed with propaganda on both sides, and have been taught to hate by schools, governments and parents. Bitterness and hatred is a psychological disease that corrodes the spirit and makes their anger spue out to the innocent. racism is an insidious blight on this earth and no one should have to entertain it and by doing so, actually gives silent consent to its existance.
i for one will not be party to it and would say he/she should leave and take their ignorance with them. If they cannot see the whole picture only a small part of what really occurred and by believing that they were the only ones to suffer, then i would suggest they looked deeper to find the whole truth. I have no time for small minded people. My mothers home was destroyed in a war, my brother was killed during it and was never found, but did she hate all Germans? NO she was grateful to have survived, counted her blessings and didnt have a victim mentallity, she moved on with her life and lived in the present and left the past where it belonged. And thats all i will say on the subject.

I don't know what is going on in the occupied Cyprus but here no government or school taught us to hate Turkish Cypriots. Of course they taught us about the Turkish occupation that should end and rightly so!

Still, Sotos we were only being taught about one side of the problem, hence biased opinions, we were never being taught our mistakes in ths scenarion... I had to get to 30 to start my own research to find out both opinions to have a broad and CORRECT opinion of every part of what happened in '74. unique_earthling said what I always say in a few words.... Bitterness and biased as well as close-minded opinions/ideas will always create problems.

lysi , its not about you staying or leaving , not about the turkish army or the british involvment on the cyppro.
its about being able to keep some rules , the following one : not swearing at others.
keep that rule and you will stay with us
its not that difficult.

not to mention that the less you swear the more credibility do your posts receive.

They dont provide an accurate picture on what has really happened and the period of 1960 to 1974 is skipped for some strange reasons. What Mikros said is true!
