TURKISH GREEK BLACK & WHITE

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

TURKISH GREEK BLACK & WHITE

Postby malaka » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:13 am

PLEASE EVERYONE EXPRESS YOUR OPINION ON THIS

Turks & Greeks have been enemies since the beginning of time.
Turks & Greeks will remain enemies.
The only solution for the Cyprus problem is for GC to take back what belongs to them by force.

I have no doubt that many Turks and many Greeks feel this way, but are you asking about TC and GC feelings too? In my opinion, many of the younger generation here, want to live together in peace and harmony. Progress is held back by the politicians' intransigence.

There is no chance of Turkish forces being thrown out of Cyprus by any military force, it will not happen. Compromise, comfortable or not, is the only solution.

I have always advocated in life to strive for the best result possible rather than the best possible result.

You are right Svetlana, force is not the answer! I have spoken to many Cyprits here in the North and they all want a peaceful and fair solution. Some of the older generation seem to want to stay "put" as they cant face the upheaval of '74 again but I have never encountered any hatred for the Greek Cypriots - they blame the polititians! And as for the mass land sales - a LOT of Turkish Cypriots are unhappy about this too and sympathise with those that have lost their land and property.

no, there is also chrysi avgi

turks and greeks have not been enemies since the beggining of time. this what you learn in school.
second even if this is the case, i dont see why it should stay like that. actually greeks and turks (not so much gcs and tcs) started thinking otherwise. just read how capitalism brings the two together.

My friend Michalis do not deny ywhat you are just for the sake of solving a political problem. Cyprus was and is inhabbited by Greeks which is about 85% of the whole of the island poppulation. Nobody said that the island is Greek, Cyprus is an independent state member of the EU and its poppulation by 85% is Greek.

Stop lying to yourself because you look pathetic.

No because the problem can be solved only when everyone honours what he is and also by respecting what the others are. This model of Cypriot nation firstly introduced by the Britons and then followed blindly by some extremist so called "communists" (I have to admit that this is more nationalistic than communist) has failed. I want to make known to u that similar behavior by greeks burning greek flags and denying their nature can also be met by the extreme left supporters in Greece, these do it for the sake of a "no nation" ideaology. You are not like this, you are nationalists for something that does not exist... you want to create a new nationality just for the sake of solving a problem of co existance of two different nationalities. Well it is democracy and you can believe whatever you want however these extreme ideas have no place in a situation like the political problem of cyprus.

It is a human right to respect what you are...
