Well you can call yourslef a martian... that does not change the fact that your mother tongue is greek, your name is greek, your culture is greek and your ancestors were called greeks. You are a Cypriot that belongs to the Greek community as it is called by the 1960 settlement.

In fact I speak a cypriot language which is slightly different to the Greek language.

The republic of Cyprus estalished in 1960 was an independent republic! What does the word independent mean? Either you are Independent or you are not.

Greece has no control in Cyprus and the policies devised in Greece has no real effect in Cyprus!

It is a human right to respect what you are

No because the problem can be solved only when everyone honours what he is and also by respecting what the others are. This model of Cypriot nation firstly introduced by the Britons and then followed blindly by some extremist so called "communists" (I have to admit that this is more nationalistic than communist) has failed. I want to make known to u that similar behavior by greeks burning greek flags and denying their nature can also be met by the extreme left supporters in Greece, these do it for the sake of a "no nation" ideaology. You are not like this, you are nationalists for something that does not exist... you want to create a new nationality just for the sake of solving a problem of co existance of two different nationalities. Well it is democracy and you can believe whatever you want however these extreme ideas have no place in a situation like the political problem of cyprus.

It is a human right to respect what you are...

what makes you believe that the "greek" is not a creation , just like the "turk" ?

The language you speak is a dialect of Greek and not a separate language, just like in Greece if you go to the north you get a different dialect, if you go to Crete another dialect, actually the Cyprus dialect is very similar to the dialect they speak in Rhodes and has also very similarities to the one they speak in Corfu(because of similar history Venetians and British have ruled the island in the past)... a language has structure and grammar and is not about we say in cyprus "paw sto toilet" and in athens "paw toualeta". Linguistics is a very exact science and not an abstract idea.

Of course Greece has no Control over Cyprus and should never have.

I do not want to persuade you for anything, but I am afraid that facts are facts.

Well I do not believe that this is the place to teach anyone history, and because I do not want to be accused for propaganda of any kind, I think you can get your answer in any public library. Look for the history section.

But if you are lazy, the answer to your question is no, Tuks are a creation of the idea of an ottoman general called Kemal... Greeks or better Hellenes (greek comes form grekos which was how the ottomans well calling the Hellenes) have a history that goes back to more than 2000 years in this part of the world.
