However nothing in our history can be an excuse for the biggest crime that was committed in Cyprus since the time of the Ottomans, the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus and the ethnic cleansing of 1/3rd of the population

piratis i do agree EOKA B did bad things and your right that there is no excuse for the illegal Turkish Invasion of Cyprus but unfortunatly michalis5354 thinks becasue of EOKA B who did not represent all greek Cypriots that Turkey had reasons to invade Cyprus

Piratis the Turks have stolen the GC properties temporariliy until a solution to the problem is reached.

"Stolen temporarily"? This is a new term. It would be a funny joke if it didn't involve 200.000 refugees that were forced out of their homes at gun point and are still not allowed to return.

The Turkish army performed ethnic cleansing and took 1/3rd of Cyprus. They declared that the Cyprus problem was solved in 1974 and that now in Cyprus 2 separate states exist. They issued new titles for the GC properties and gave them to TCs and settlers. They even changed the names of our villages. Where did you see the "temporary" in their intentions? If it was only up to them the "trnc" would have been recognized and not a single refugee would have been allowed to return.
The aim of the military ruled Turkey was and continues to be the permanent partition and the "permanent stealing" of our properties.

Greek Cypriot refugees are temporarily housed in TC properties. They were forced to live in these properties since Turkey forced them out from their own. They were not given titles to those properties and our side has clearly said that the illegal occupation of Cyprus should end and everybody should be allowed to return to their own properties.

This country is half million people. When you have fewer people you have less chances of having "great leaders", great sportsmen", "great artists" etc. It is a matter of numbers.

Therefore we have to choose the best from what is available, and this is what we do. Remember that in democracy the best is the one that the majority things he the best.

Your previous posts clearly have a degree of hatred in them for Turkish and Turkish Cypriots. You are being judgemental on not one but 2 races, whilst show a complete lack of understanding of a history of Cyprus.

Have you ever met Turkish Cypriots? Turkish Cypriots are as much Turkish as Greek Cypriots are Greek.

so if Turkish troops were to leave you would forget that they were here or would you like them? I dont have a problem with either GC's TC's Greek or Turks as a race. I find most very nice people with the odd numbskull but then again every race, nationality has them.

Why dont you listen to some of the other GC's on this forum who have tried to give you a brief summary of Cyprus history. Maybe one day you will understand that the events of 1974 gave Turkey a reason to send troops to Cyprus.

Which really is not a justification just a good standing excuse that no one can really argue too much with. I have to say that I am of the opinion that the Junta lovers did give them a reason to intervene. The part where they invaded, killed, raped and all that was not necessary and is beyond me. They could have also left after. Of course that doesnt make me hate the TC's and want them all to go away because they have been living here for only 400 years....lol
I believe that Turkey and Greece should stay out of it and Cypriots should find a way to solve their own problems. Like when we used to fight with our siblings when we were kids and our mom wanted to come separate us and make everything right and the dads used to say let them work it out themselves....kinda like that. Anyway I better get to bed I think lack of sleep is making me type all kids of silly stuff.

i dont understand why some Greek Cypriots are sympathetic about the Turkish Cypriots to me they are not Cypriots they are Turkish invaders from 400 years ago. it was the so called Turkish Cypriots fault that Turkey Invaded in the First place werent they the ones who asked Turkey to invade wasnt it the turkish cypriots who wanted cyprus to be part of Turkey and had a Terrorist group TMT and killed greeks. the so called Turkish Cypriots are same as the illegal Turkish settlers from anatolia except the so called Turkish Cypriots where illegal invaders from 100 years ago. And also Dont Forget the President of North occupied Cyprus is Raulf Dentash a Turkish Cypriot who killed greeks

i agree with mrfrogng Turks and greeks will never be freinds to me the Turkish cypriots should also get out with the turkish settlers and go back to Turkey we tried living with the turkish Cypriots before 1974 and they backstabbed us. the only solution is we try and get back what is ours or Cyprus stays divided and we do not mix with the SO called Turkish Cypriots its didnt work before dont forget the Turkish Cypriots where our invaders and occupiers from 100 years ago they not our neighbours and never will be Cyprus should block Turkey from joining the EU so should greece i am very dispointed with greece for Not blocking Turkey's EU membership
