Is situation in Cyprus identical like one in Serbia?In Cyprus you have turks who take over some part and greeks dont like it just like in Serbia,Albanians want to take over Kosovo,part of serbia with most ortodox churches.Is situation in this countries same or identical,can they make solution?

I respect everyone's opinion but I agree to disagree with the basic premise of your question. Cyprus is not ruled by a megalomaniac tyrant bent on nationalistic genocide. Milosevic was a ruthless dictator who slaughtered thousands of people in the name of religion and nationalisim. Please do not forget that the Kosovars were the majority in Kosovo and not the Serbs. As far as I know there is no ethnic cleansing going on in Cyprus...I would prefer a two nation state then one in bloodshed.

The Greek Cypriots were and still are the rightful residents of all of Cyprus. Although I feel that this problem will never be solved in my life time. I believe a two nation state who live side by side in peace is the right solution for Cyprus. As much as I despise what happened in Cyprus, we can not undo the past. Yes, it is an illegal occupation (just ask the Palestinians how well off they are), but war and bloodshed is not an answer. We must find a way just like in Serbia to live side by side with our unwelcome neighbors.

Unfortunatley many people will disagree with my solution, but the status quo has worked so far....and no one seems to have any better ideas?

Ethnic cleansing was performed in Cyprus when Turkey forced 200.000 people, the majority of the population, to abandon their homes.

Compared with the Turkish military rulers and the genocides and ethnic cleansing they performed, people like Milosevic are nothing. The problem for Milosevic was not what he did, but that he was on the wrong side. If he was on the side of the Americans he could perform genocides and ethnic cleansing and nobody would touch him (like it is the case of Turkey, Israel and USA).

Greek and Turkish Cypriots should be allowed to live in the whole island in the land of their ancestors. Ethnic cleansing is not a solution.

I agree for many things but you dont know how is it in Kosovo...even Milosevic forced them to go back to albania and killed many people kosovian serbs and albanians were good together.Now you have albanian leaders who maked crimes on serbs.Are you ortodox christian?I am.I watched how one albanian burn ortodox church and fire it.then he took the cros and destroyed it...Cyprus have to insist Turkey dont join EU,of they do you will forever have them there

I agree that Kosovar Serbs and Kosovar Albanians slaughtered each other and they both burned down Orthodox churches and Mosques and killed each other in the name of religion. I also spent a considerable amount of time in Kosovo as a U.N. peacekeeper...the deep hatred imbedded in each other will take generations to dissolve. A 2 state solution is the only remedy.

2 state no.kosovo is like Atos for greece....and soon in serbia radikals will win on the elections and then our europian future is done and also we are going to be close to russia and belarus.Radikal party even want to okupy kosovo.
We cant just let it to albanians.We have there most of our history,our oldest ortodox churches.There was one case when one newspaper intrerved one serb woman on kosovo and later in newspaper was written that it is albanian woman.and you been there you should know that they didnt comed legal there too,that in 30 years kosovo will have duble more people,and serbs cant go anywhere...Cyprus dont have army which can measure with turkey and belive me Americans will be on Turkeys side

u know, i spend the last three weeks in NY one of the most multi-cultural socities in the world, and that is what i ve heard from greeks living here . they were furious that the greeks have accepted a turk in a tv show (big brother, or fame story or whatever). they were accusing the greeks of accepting the turks once again occupy greece for another 400 years just bc a turk kid, would take part in a stupid show , with some other stupid kids who think that they will become celebrities!!
and i was thinking...was the point of spending so many years in NY, amd have your eyes closed of what is going on around you!!
honestly, u dont get such ideas in cyprus.

so.. there are tcs, they do exists and they are our compatriots - not invaders. they are not so-called cypriots, they are cypriots. get over the ottoman invasion. its been over 400 years ago. tc are part of our country and i would never want them out. to be exact this their country as well and even if we want we cannot kick them out.
