PREGNANT IN CYPRUS

Postby littlemiss » Fri Apr 07, 2006 5:10 pm

Hi can anyone tell me where i might find an english doctor here? I am pergnant with my first and living in Paralimni, I have a doctor at the Litto clinic but am desperate to speak to an english doctor. Also how do i go about finding classes like Lamaze? If there are any other first time english mums out there who can help me please let me know this pregnancy thing is scary enough without doing it in a foreign country!

I thought Lyto had english speaking doctors..
Their used to be Afxentiou and Santa Marina there as well, dont know if they still exist... or you can try the newly opened New Famagusta Hospital....

oh they speak english just not great! Its not really them speaking i have a problem with its them understanding, lol. I would go to the other hospitals but i heard a roumer that if there are any problems with labour they send you to the litto anyway, so i figured i might aswell save them the trouble and be there in the first place!

Well the New Famagusta Hospital is the government where usually everyone is sent there in case of any real emergnecies.... or try Larnaca or better still Makarios Hospital in Nicosia which is a dedicated OB/GYN hospital.

hi there. I am an english midwife. I will be pleased to help with any general questions you may have. Not the same as having someone face to face, but let me know if you want some support.
