Brits suspected of buying GC property in north were detained

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Piratis,

TC's have shown respect and the willingness to live side by side, they proved this by voting YES at the referendum.

There will be a good number of GC's that will want to move back to their houses in the north but by the same token there will be a lot more who will stay where they are in the south simply because it is more practical to do so.

In my opinion there will be more than adequate land and homes available for those GC's returning to the north.

Question is why? Schooling? Hate-fuelled teachers? Both

PARENTS AT HOME, TEACHERS AT SCHOOL AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PRIESTS IN CHURCH.

This does not prove anything to me.... Although I have also voted Yes, I havent seen any positive actions from the TC side, irrespective of how much I want the CY united... Building houses and/or selling GC land is not a positive action I strongly believe

My parents never taught me to hate TC's
My teachers just taught me what happened in 1974 and before
I havent heard a priest tell me to hate anyone
Maybe I am an exception. But I think that we are taught the history of events and then we can draw our own conclusions. Some people are more likely to be mad than others. I dont hate anyone. I just am mad sometimes I have to admit and wish things would be normal. Hopefully one day they will be.

You certainly are.

I was never taught by my parents to hate Greeks or anybody else for that matter. My daughter came home from school one day with a Greek boy and introduced him as her boyfriend, she was sixteen at the time. I told her he seemed like a nice boy and it was her choice. She ended up marrying a Turk and divorcing after 3 years. She is now marrying her English boyfriend. I would never interfere unless she was involved with total bum, a lowlife who I know would end up hurting her.

For me, it is important to have love and respect for your fellow man, regardless of race, religion or colour.

Seems a bit cheeky - buying greek property and using the cheaper airline to do it!! Perhaps the authorities should state one way or another whether the people will be detained or not. If I bought a Greek property I don't think I would risk crossing the border with the documents on me.

Political Analyst Louis Igoumenides yesterday told the Cyprus Mail he believed the main reason for the change in attitude was the Tassos Papadopoulos government.

The technical term for the above statement would be "bollocks!".

Igoumenidis is a known opponent of Papadopoulos and supporter of the disgraceful Annan plan.

The reasons for the change in attitude was PURELY the Annan plan.

For the past 30 years GCs understood the definition of "unification" to mean precisely that. i.e living together in ONE country, anywhere in this country, with the right to go back home, with one government, where all citizens are equal etc and with TCs having the rights of a protected 18% minority together with some local/regional autonomy (i.e. at the local authority level).

The Annan plan made them realise for the FIRST time the meaning of the "unification" that rogue politicians (like Vasiliou and Clerides) have been negotiating on their behalf for years, behind their backs and without their authorisation.

The Annan-plan "unification" gives the TCs the best of both worlds and the GCs the worst of both worlds.

As I have explained in numerous posts, partition on the basis of proportionality (i.e. fair land sharing - at least 80:20) is infinitely better for GCs than the Annan plan or ANY solution that is based on or even slightly resembles the Annan plan.

More and more GCs are realising that this is the only way forward. The only people who do not (or pretend so) are the politicians..

The 80% Party (the formation of which I announced recently) is getting bigger!

Tony, what you are saying is total bollocks. Are you serious? I guess the above is based on the wonderful years TC's and GC's shared between 60 and 74, is it?

Please stop taking us all for fools.
