Building work at our hotel

Postby Leeann » Wed Oct 27, 2004 11:52 pm

Hi
I am going to Cyprus next year to get married, I am staying at the Louis Imperial in Paphos. I have been to Cyprus before and loved it and my parents go twice a year.

When my parents were last there they went and had a look at the imperial. They said it was a lovely hotel, there was building work going on behind the hotel, but that was not causing any problems. But when they spoke to the Manager he said that buy the time we will be out there (JUNE) there will be further building work going on and the swimming pool will be moved.
I have spoken to my travel agents to change hotel but the manager will not confirm this to thompsons. Has anyone heard of such building work?

Or does anyone know anyone I could contact about this?

Would be extremely grateful for any help.

Regards
Leeann

I'm not sure how helpful they'll be, but you can try calling the CTO in London to see if they have any information (details below).

Cyprus Tourist Office

17 Hanover Street
London W1S 1YP
Tel: 0207 569 8800, 0207 569 8808
Fax: 0207 499 4935

Although, if you're booking through an agent, I think they are legally bound to inform you of any building work being planned where you are staying. If you don't get any luck from your local agent office, call their head office and demand to speak to someone who does know. Whatever happens don't let them fob you off. :allout:

Hope the wedding goes well. I got married in Cyprus in September (big Greek wedding though, I married a local  ). Have fun, at least you should be guaranteed the weather at that time of year.
