Could anyone tell me where we would stand legally if we wanted to rent out part of our property in Cyprus as a holiday let?

Would we be able to do this?

I would like to buy a house that has a separate apartment or house attached to generate income. We would live in the main house while letting.

Strictly speaking it is illegal.

But then 99% of the holiday lets on the island fall into that category.

Arriving new to the Cyprus and breaking the law immediately may be not a good thing to do??

Hi Niki,

You're supposed to get a licence from the CTO if you wish to rent your property to tourists.

I was wondering if you could advise me? If so, I have been talking to an agent over in the UK about Aphrodite Garden apartments in Pissouri. I know you are from Pissouri so could shed some light? I have arranged a viewing trip for next month (i am not a dreamer !

Are you coming on an organised inspection visit? If so, be warned that you'll be given very little (if any) time or opportunity to do your own research and viewings.
