Wonders will never cease. I have recently been offered employment at one of the Embassies in Cyprus working as a Security Specialist. As I sit here and sip on my cognac and imbide in a Cuban cigar I cannot but feel blessed to be coming to Cyprus. I have lived in Norway for the last 14 years working for NATO and I cannot wait to come to live in the sunshine and great community of Nicosia. Norway has been great but I have to tell you that Norway is the last unknown Communist Country. They claim they are Socialists but I currently pay 55% tax on my income. Yeah, that is right 55 percent. Medical care is free except for an upfront deductible and they you wait in line for days. A glass of beer is 7 U.S. dollars and we pay close to $7 dollars a gallon for gas.
The salaries are exceptional and the life is great if you can afford it. The weather sucks and the people are xenophobic, if you are not Norwegian, you ain't shit. It is almost impossible to find employment as a Non Norwegian Citizen. I have been very fortunate to find the right connections....I look forward to coming to Cyprus....not only for the weather, gregarious citizens, great food, but also to live my life as it was intended. My salary is generous by Cypriot standards, I have a great wife and I am looking forward to living a great life. If anybody needs anything from Norway, please do not hesitate and ask. I will do my utmost to comply. This forum has been great and I have learned a lot from reading all the posts. Have a fantastic day. Can't wait to get to Cyprus. A soul who has found his calling.
