The gold medal came from the men's skeet pairs of shooting with George Achilleos and Antonis Nicolaides clinching a 190 out of 200 score.
Louiza Theofanous and Andri Eleftheriou won for Cyprus a silver medal in the women's skeet pairs event scoring 88 out of 100.
Gymnast Irodotos Georgallas won a bronze medal in the men's rings event.

In the men's skeet pairs, Cyprus beat England's Clive Bramley and Richard Brickell to gold with Australia third.
The bbc commentator was full of praise for the Cypriot pair.

I am getting better too. Last time in the army I got 8 out of 10 from the 300 meters
