Do you check the expiration dates of products?

Once we forgot a milk in the fridge for many days. My girlfried didn't notice the expiration date and she drunk it 9 days !!! after it had expired. She didn't know that it was expired until I noticed the date on the bottle and told her. she said that it didn't seem spoiled. Nothing happened to her.

Usually the dates on milk and such are sell by. which means the date stated is the last day the store should sell it on and then it still lasts a few days after that, especially in the winter.
