Hello,
I got a job in Larnaca and moving there in 10 days.
I am from eastern Europe (NOT Russian )
are Cypriots friendly to foreigners? What are the best places to go out to meet guys?

The rent is obviously higher in the center of Larnaca, say on average for a 1 bedroomed furnished apartment about £200/month, hae a good look around and don't jump at the first one you see!!!! Clothe's are expensive and the quality isn't too good. For a night out (just drink's and maybe club) you would need about £20-30 pound (Depending on how much you drink ) If you going out for a meal it depends obviously on where you go, about £20 pound for a nice place. For your basic food shopping-well, for me I've noticed it's no differant to UK price's (actually sometimes I think its now cheaper for food shopping in the UK), if your on your own, proably about £25/week

You'll manage fine on 800cyp/month......easy Im sure you'll meet people through your work. As for the Cypriot's, yea they are nice to foreigner's, do be carefull though as if they see you as an "easy target" they will try and rip you off. Whenit come's to dealing with money, make sure you get it all written down and signed for you in black and white. By the time you come summer will just be starting and Cyprus is great in summer...winter's, well, if your still here you'll see for yourself....totally differant Best of luck to you, keep me informed on how your getting on......

Jesus Angel Eyes, how much do you drink when you go out???

My weekly shopping at Chris Cash & Carry cost me £14 today. When I go out for a meal, it normally comes to no more than £10 per head at nice places, clothes.....I'll grant that one to you. Hate the clothes out here.

I agree with the original estimate... average night out? Club 5-8 CYP entrance, before that pre-drinks about erm 4 (12 CYP) thats 12 CYp so 20 in total already... drinks in the club... et voila, ur up to 30. But that's me I got an ok tolerance.....

Eating out depends... ya wanna go to Maccy D's, thas fine. But the upper scale restaurants are definetely not 10 CYP per head. Even the crappy restaurants in the limassol tourist area charge 7 per main dish. 20 should be safer.
