Working from Cyprus to the rest of Europe over broadband

Postby kalahari » Sun Mar 12, 2006 10:41 am

Hi folks

Moving to Limassol in 2007. Intend to work as an illustrator and copywriter serving the UK and the rest of Europe via broadband, with payment being transferred into a UK bank account via BACS.

a) Can I assume that Limassol has strong enough broadband and where can I find out its catchment area?

b) Is anybody else out there doing anything similar, and are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?

Thanks.

Limassol has a good signal for broadband. You have CyTA (Cyprus Telecommunication Authority) who are upgrading their services to ADSL 2+, then you have Primetel who are just starting out who are using ADSL2+.

Whatever you do, do not sign up for Cyta's Netrunner or itnernet service. You basically can't avoid it for the phone line line itself, but their internet stability and speed is absolutely horrible. Waiting for Primetel to install their service to check them out.
