MR are my initials and NG is for Newington Green. Every time I visited my mates in Cyprus they would hug me and say "hey it's our mate m**** from Newington Green. (my fathers shop was in Newington Green . North London)

Hi Mate
and nice to talk with another moderate
i spent some time in the Smoke among you southern poofters ( joke )
i worked in the east end, hackney moving a chemical plant to belgium .
great people the Londoners Funny very Funny and easy going too
got drunk in every pub along Romford road over the five weeks we were there, before we finished the job and went back to manchester
Romford road is a bloody long road, boy did i suffer. But great memories

Hi Bakala,

Nice to see non Cypriots giving their unbiased opinions on the forum. Yes our Southern Fairies are a delight. You seem to have frequented places that are very familiar to me in north London. But to be honest I was more into the West-End scene.
(too old for any scene now)

Bakala, I thoroughly enjoy your posts, the poem is excellent, keep posting. :D

Considering Newington Green (London N16) is less than a mile from Hackney I guess it's not a big deal. :? :?

well if no one else is going to post a peace poem it looks like i won :)
the first was the ten minute rush version
heres the polished final article the end bit is different

For Liberty and freedom that was the battle cry
For Liberty and freedom the reason that we die

Free to live in Serfdom
Our masters send us forth
To fight to keep my master
To keep him as my lord

Ill kill the other man
And make him truly free
For he fights for his Lord
His reason same as me

For liberty and freedom that was the battle cry
For liberty and freedom for another guy

I am my master’s servant he tells me who to kill
Another’s masters servant buried on a hill
A chest of gold a cup of power
My master grows in wealth
No thought of cost in human kind
The grim reaper stalks with stealth

For at the point of killing him, I knew my future well
That murder of my brother man , was damning me to hell

True freedom has a hidden price,
for you to have it . everyone must have it. otherwise its just a dream you hold
For if you deny it to others, someday you will wake and realise that the dream has gone with the waking
