Pope Benedict XVI Calls on EU to Restore Justice in Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

If you r comparing the cyprus problem with the kurdish issue then consider installing a Turkish President.of Cyprus just as the turks installed a Kurd to the highest office in Turkey. unthinkable isnt it? so dont compare them.

I will compare them because its a valid comparison much to your dismay. As far as electing a president of Turkish ethnicity my answer would be how do you know that we wouldnt? We dont know because people such as your self wont allow us to live together.

After the problems you had in accepting three tc ministers in the Makarios years I have a problem in accepting that you will favour a tc in the highest office in the land.
And if you do, it is only after the intervention of the Turkish Army – forty years of division, and multi thousands of dead and homeless of thousands of refugees –

Ps you touched upon an excellent point earlier. You seemed to discredit a previous quote attributed to the Daily Express. Instead of simply wrapping it up in a bubble labelled propoganda and throwing it in the dustbin, then in the interest of stopping lies from the past clouding and merely adding to present day mistrust, please do us all a big favour and ask The Daily Express to confirm or deny whether or not they printed it.

We will all benefit from learning the truth, wouldn't we?

What are you going on about? I wasnt even born during the Markario years? and Of course you would have a hard time accepting it after all your a nationalist Turk.

And if you do, it is only after the intervention of the Turkish Army – forty years of division, and multi thousands of dead and homeless of thousands of refugees –

Thats right, over 120 UN & SC resolutions against Turkey regarding this invasion (or intervention as the Turks say, what ever makes you happy), colonization and occupation of Cypriot territory.

Ps you touched upon an excellent point earlier.

Thanks, i try!

Well looky here, did i post a link to the Daily Express or to a Turkish Nationalist site? Notice how you didnt disagree that you got your information from the Turkish site. It was if as you just found gold and wanted everyone to know, look everyone, look what i found! Sorry buddy, its all been done here before. I posted the link so that you wouldnt flood this forum with the rubbish content thats on that site as it has been done before by other posters with other propaganda sites. if you dont mind, Ill leave the posters on this site to decide on their own whether they agree with what is on the ATAA website or not, thank you kindly. And that leaves me to this--do we see Cypriots here flooding this forum with say UN resolutions or Cypriot sites that talk about the invasion? I havent seen it. one would think we can discuss the Cyprus Problem without resorting to such behavior. see ya.

Yes you try, but how much?

Do yo beleive everything in the greek press, do you believe nothing in the tc press, or do you have the sense to try and make up your own mind.

If you know nothing of the makarios years, then please research, because Jo we are all still suffering as a result of nationist ideas from those years. The deaths and refugees were the result of 14 yrs of Makarios and gc rule, after we had all agreed to live as neighbours under the protectorate of Greece, Turkey, UK, and under a gc majority government.

If you are going to turn a blind eye to tc web sites, then the link i gave was to the UK house of commons the same quote may also be found there
again attributed to the Daily Express.

I gave that quote because one of your gc countrymen asked for evidence of over one humdred tc deaths 60-74, and when i responded correctly you dismiss it without another thought simply because of its source. If you are only interested in believing the gc account and totally dismissive of ther tc account then you are making the same mistakes your fathers made. You should be more educated than they and shoould be able to attribute more truth to the tc events, without the need to label these events as propoganda simply because they conflict with the beliefs with which your fathers held and with which you were brought up.

We know your possition, we know and accept thousands of gcs died and over 150000 made homeless as a result of the invasion, we are also aware of the many un resolutions. You should also be aware of what went on during the 14 years of an independant Cyprus, and accept the oppressions and sufferings of the tcs, which gc to this day still imposoes upon them.
