Piratis,
words like Criminals, racists,SCUM,FILTH, etc.etc. used in a personalised manner aimed at individuals or an individual constitutes a direct threat to them.
At no point did i ever state in clear force that you are racist. Feel free to examine all my posts towards you if you wish.
What i am trying to make you understand is that as a moderator there is no harm in you expressing your views.
What there is harm in is when you post statements worded or written in a manner that constitutes a DIRECT attack on an individual or group of people. Debating is fine as long as the parties involved contribute fairly and equally in the discussion.
You, Michael, Lysi etc etc havent. You have let it get personal when there was no need to resutling possibly in a slight demise of users from your site.
Wether or not you are a moderator for this part of the forum or not is BESIDES THE POINT.
When you look at your user display it doesnt say moderator for x section, it says MODERATOR which means you hold a position in your forum.
If you cannot use this position wisely and insist on calling people scum causing misunderstandings and wars of words, then please feel free to walk out the door and let normal people talk.
The least you could have done, after Michael leashed his attack yesetrday was moderate him.
DID YOU?
NO
Instead you joined him in launching attacks on people when there was no need for it.
In order for something to be done, i had to contact the administrator who warned the parties concerned to stop while they were ahead.
Good job my friend. Moderators help the administrator, NOT cause more work for him.
Take heed in what i say please its for your own good as much as everyone elses. Learn to be tolerant to other peoples views without constanlty feeling the urge to force your onto everyone with provocative terms phrases and name calling.
Thank you thats all i ask.

So you disagree that people that violate the laws of Republic of Cyprus and exploit the properties stolen from Greek Cypriots are criminals?
In fact this is said by the government and it is verified by court rulings who found those people guilty for their illegal actions.

If you want to support the criminals and their crimes this is your choice. If you want to be in a place were criminals like those are respected then you are probably in the wrong place.

Go in a USA forum and support Bin Laten and his actions on 9/11. How about also saying that you are part of the team of Bin Laten and that you have personally violated their laws to commit crimes against them. Lets see how you would be treated there. Not only you would be attacked, probably you would be banned, and if you sounded serious enough you might even had CIA on your ass.

Therefore why do you expect from us Cypriots to be friendly and nice with the criminals that abuse our rights and exploit our properties?

Piratis,
The issue at hand is not wether i agree with you or not.
The issue here is that your attitude is improper to that of a moderator.
Should you disagree with me then that is your prerogative.
From what i have seen on this forum performance wise of YOURSELF as well as other users i wont be in a hurry to return.
Its a shame really. It really is. i dont expect you to understand my points because logic doesnt prevail within this .com domain.
All i am saying to you is that if you dont like the post about Bin Laden then i will apologise and you may remove it.
If its bothered you that much why havent you removed it?
Its one thing a user calling someone scum or filth, or direct users criminals because they 'come from the north', and a totally different thing when a MODERATOR does it, a moderator being of supreme user rights who represents the site and promotes its safe and good use.
You my friend do not do that. Instead you seek to join in the very personal remarks that YOU SHOULD BE MONITORING.
Its one thing expressing a view or a thought.
Its a totally different thing expressing a view or a thought with direct reference to personal users calling them FILTH SCUM and the lowest of the low.
THAT IS THE VERY THING YOU SHOULD BE MODERATING.
Perhaps this link will help you?
http://www.wordreference.com/definition/moderator
you will see that the definition for moderator is someone who:
'someone who mediates disputes and attempts to avoid violence'
please supply me with a valid example of your actions as a moderator based on the above dictionary explanation WITHIN this thread.
regards.

Who said such things? You?

Because I called scum not the ones who 'come from the north' but the foreigners who go to occupied Cyprus with the sole intention of violating the laws of Republic of Cyprus and exploiting our properties.

As far as the "moderator" part goes, I will repeat to you that I am not a moderator of this section therefore what you say is irrelevant in the first place. Take it for granted that I have every right to express my opinion just like you do. If you don't like this then simply press that little X on the top right corner of your browser. Good bye and say my best wishes to your Queen when you get back to your UK.

Someone asked if 'this was a GC site?' The site is hosted in the RoC and all Moderators happen to live there, but are we all GC?, the answer is 'no'.

The site welcomes contributions from all, it is a chance to hear from all 'sides', we just ask that people respect its rules on behaviour, to ensure that it is an enjoyable and informative place for people to spend time and exchange views and opinions.

Compare the two:

Can someone please analyse the two posts by two different moderators and explain to this 'moderator' piratis what i am trying to say to him about the way he writes and that its wrong for a moderator to write like this?
IT DOESNT MATTER WETHER YOURE MODERATING THIS OR THE MICKEY MOUSE SECTION YOU ARE A MODERATOR. WHAT OTHER LANGUAGE WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO SAY IT IN?
YOU MUST BE CURTIOUS HAVE PATIENCE AND MODERATE ACCORDINGLY NOT JUST PEOPLE WHO DONT AGREE WITH YOUR VIEWS.
HOW CAN I MAKE IT ANY CLEARER?
Lana, you are a credit to your website, your comments are constructive, non critical and fair, exactly what a moderator should be in a public forum such as this.
You should charge by the hour and teach people like Piratis how to do the same. That or assign them to ' i just saw a flying pig' section of the website.
And as for Michael. I do believe that this is a conversation between myself and Piratis, who on earth are you now getting involved?

AH!!
The sign of indifference. Answering a question with a question. Every uneducated mans answer when his back is against the wall.
Please supply me with examples of HOW you have been a succesful moderator within this thread.
Thank you.

Look, stop being so sensitive. Fight your corner, if you have something to say, say it. It’s no use complaining that others are this, that and the other.

This has and always will be my point Michael. THIS ISNT A FIGHT its been turned into one, i was hoping when i originally started posting on here that i would be able to participate in a big online debate about things that are close to me and personal to me such as the Cyprus problem. And with the first post i have made, i have been attacked turning this thread into 9 pages of attacks. Its wrong.
Now we have all calmed down can we please sit around and talk like civilised human beings?
Believe me i am not being sensitive just like you who gets annoyed about the TRNC I too get annoyed when rules are broken and injustices are done especially within this thread and i end up being the one to blame for it.
CAN WE NOW TALK AND DEBATE THE SUBJECT OR WILL THIS TURN INTO ANOTHER SLANGING MATCH?
EVERYONE?
