The alternative? Accepting the violations of our human and legal rights? Bending over to close the "gap"? Thats your suggestion?

The right for Cypriot rule belongs to the Cypriot people as a whole with democratic procedures. And the Cypriot people are not made exclusively by neither TCs or GCs. In fact GCs and TCs are not the only components of Cypriots. We also have Armenians, Latins and Maronites, as well as a small percentage of citizens that come from other places.
All the citizens together have the right for Cypriot rule, just like it is the case in all other democratic countries in the whole world.

very true

but since g and t have been killing each other for five hundred years does it not make sense to seperate the two?

how many more murders massacres will it take?

and as for democracy please remember that the USA and Britain are staunchly pro democratic and wish to export such to the world. These nations have gone into Iraq with democratic mandates from democratically elected govts and have democratically decided to install a democratically elected govt in Iraq, which will lead to a democratic civil war in Iraq.

Democracy means different things to different countries, please dont use that word as if it validates every cause, because in many respects it doesnt. If for example the democratic wish of the people of northern ireland were respected tonight, by tomorrow morning all catholics in northern ireland would be murdered. Tha same applies in Iraq where all suni moslems would be murdered. As it is there will be mass murder in Iraq which could be prevented right now by partition, but no first thousands must die agonising deaths before common sense can prevail.

Ok, give to TCs 9% of land and to GCs the 91% and lets keep them separate. Or you mean that it makes "sense" when the TCs are the ones who take double the property on the expense of GCs?

Still I would hope that the racists that insist that the two races should not be mixed will become part of the past sooner or later.

racist..

piratis

in some sense we are all racist. when we support or local football team are we not racist, when we support our national football team are we not racist? again your use of diction does not validate any argument.

9% ?

well at least thats a start

how about 45

Here is the definition for you. Supporting a team has nothing to do with discrimination based on race.

a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is superior to another. Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously, through institutions that promote inequality between races.

And thats the end.
But thanks for clarifying that what "make sense" according to you is when TCs gain on the loss of GCs. Too bad for TCs that they have no right for partition and no right to gain on our loss.

Democracy means different things to different countries, please dont use that word as if it validates every cause, because in many respects it doesnt.

In all democratic countries, (e.g EU countries) all citizens are equal with no kind of discrimination based on their race, religion or language.
This is a fundamental part of democracy.

supporting your national football team has everything to do with race.
