Salary in cyprus

Postby Fini » Mon Feb 20, 2006 11:04 am

Big hello to all of you!
I have a question concerning the salary in cyprus, and hope someone of you could help me. In the moment I work as a draughtsperson in an architecture-office in germany. I'm learning the greek language for 2 years now and for some more job-experience I'm planning to go to cyprus for 1 or 2 years.

So I got a job-offer now from a company in Nicosia, they would give me accommodation and pay all social insurances and the remaining salary would be 400 CY-Pounds a month.
I know the salaries there are definately not compareable with high german salaries.
But I doubt that 400 Pounds a month are enough for living in cyprus, is it?
Maybe you could tell me, how much is the average salary of a draughtsperson there in cyprus?
Any replies of you would be thankful welcomed!

salaries are extremely low here. don't know about draughtsperson but lawyers can start on around £700-800 pm before deductions with NO accommodation. Accommodation for say a one bed apartment is around £200-300 pm so your salary sounds good.

£400pm is not a lot to live on, unless there is another wage earner in the family. I could not manage it!

Ok. Thank you very much for your point of views.
It helped me a lot to hear the opinions from someone who lives there.
I will think about it carefully and make then my decision.

Thanks again!

I tend to overpay staff - you get the best and you retain them; I pay my Admin staff £700-£800pm net.

I know scooter messengers in Nicosia earning £800+ a month so a qualified and skilled person taking home £400 per month even with accomodation paid is a piss take.
