The definitive idea for peace - you read it here first

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

firstly, a faggot is a type of meatball. Do you think meatballs can type english on an internet forum? idiot.

Second, a bunch is unlikely to consist of two things. It's going to be more isn't it, I mean, you don't go and buy a bunch of two flowers do you? unless you're particularly stupid or stingy. Feel bad for your missus.

Third, I don't beat children. That would be scandalous, if not highly illegal. Although I do like beating leather on wicket. It's simply cricket. oh yes. It is cricket.

Cricket cricket cricket....

oh.

ha! vex8, thine wisdom is spoteth on-eth.

this fellow, i am sad to say, is a cock-eth.

I mean, who on earth has a fettish for female news of the world readers sat on deck chairs in hyde park. never heard of that perversion before, although i guess the greeks are getting bored of the usual deviances, so trying out new ideas is a novel break from the norm.

bless them though, they try their hand at talking politics, you know, jumping on the tired old hat bandwagon of anti-iraq war sentiment.

but when they try and tie it into what's happening on the island of cyprus, it all loses its sense of....well.....seriousness.

if the Brits are still getting hammered because a criminal was hanged in the 1950s for murder by a judge, then there's no hope.

the greek cypriots have done a marvellous job over recent decades of killing their own people....lets leave one criminal trial in the 1950s aside for now shall we?

didn't realise that pawns could still be used on the chess board when they were taken 27 moves ago.

Howabout because a kid of 17 was hanged for being in possession of a firearm? Let's not go there, Cyprus in the 50s and 60s was not a great place.

how about....that's the law! he was a known trouble maker, he'd been busted out god knows how many times before, and gun running and terrorism, well, lets face it, has never been the most legal of activities even in stable societies.

Get over the fact that someone involved in dodgy sh1t got caught and paid the price. It's got nothing to do with politics or protecting your nation against foreign influences. it's a criminal matter that was handled, and if you want to argue against it from a moral/legal angle then fine, but its when people drag that up and use it in anti-british rants that I get annoyed.

It's a bit like me raging on about the fact that Myra Hindley spent 30 odd years in prison when it was brady who did the killings, or about the fact that Reg Kray spent over his sentence in jail, when worse killers did a quarter the time...
The fact is, thats law, thats criminal justice, it's always going to be skewed and incongruent - that's life. Just shut the hell up and stop being all political about it.

What, a 17 year old kid who was mislead into fighting for independence for his country and being hanged for being in possession of a firearm before he's even fired a shot? It's a little more than just 'incongruent' wouldn't you say?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming Britain for the problems in Cyprus, things could certainly have been far worse. I'm a British citizen myself and love the country. There were, however, cases when the criminal law was abused by Britain in the 1950s in Cyprus. Let's remember the criminal law in those days was set down by the British governor and not by a parliament elected by the people. Marshall Law was proclaimed and the people had no say. You are quite right in saying that Greek Cypriots were responsible for killing many innocent British, TCs and GCs but this does not excuse the kind of justice metted out.
