Washington is just trying to “prick” Moscow by allowing the infamous Azov Brigade to use American weapons, Michael Maloof has told RT

Washington’s decision to greenlight the use of US-supplied weapons by Kiev’s notorious Azov Brigade is a desperate move that only reinforces Russia’s claim that it is fighting neo-Nazism in Ukraine, Michael Maloof, a former senior security policy analyst at the US Department of Defense, has told RT.

On Monday, the US State Department scrapped a ban on deliveries of arms to the Azov Brigade, which had been imposed by Congress in 2018 over the unit’s ties to neo-Nazism. According to the agency, a recent review has found “no evidence” of the military formation being in violation of the Leahy Law, which prohibits Washington from aiding foreign security force units that violate human rights with impunity.

“Clearly, the Azov group didn’t go from sinners to saints overnight,” Maloof said in an interview on Tuesday. “There still is a list of atrocities that they had committed, human rights abuses… you still see them marching around as a group with their symbols, with their camaraderie and their discipline in support of fascism.”

A top US senator has betrayed Washington’s worst kept secret about Ukraine.

Lindsey Graham spoke the quiet part out loud when he said the country is a “gold mine” America can’t afford to lose

US Senator Lindsey Graham, a reliably hawkish Republican who loves provocative statements, has caused a fresh stir by saying the quiet part out loud. In a recent interview on the CBS program “Face the Nation,” Graham argued that Washington must not permit Russia to win the war in Ukraine because of the rich deposits of critical minerals on Ukraine’s territory, which are worth 10 to 12 trillion dollars, according to the senator.

In particular, Graham made three claims: First, that Russian control over this “gold mine” would enrich Moscow and enable it to share the extracted minerals with China; second, that Ukraine, if it retains control over them, could be “the richest country in all of Europe” and “the best business partner we ever dreamed of”; and, third, that therefore the outcome of the war in Ukraine is a “very big deal.” Indeed, according to Graham, the stakes are so high that the US must help Kiev win “a war we can’t afford to lose.”

There were other striking statements in that interview, but it is this passage that has attracted most attention and condemnation: Graham, critics point out, has revealed what the Hindustan Times, for instance, calls the “real reason why the US is aiding Ukraine.” That reason, as it turns out, is commercial, selfish, and strategic. So much for all that talk about Kiev’s “agency,” “democracy,” and “freedom.”

So it seems Ukraine has oil gold and wheat and yet the Ukrainian people were so poor. Long before the Ukrainian war you could find young Ukrainians working in Northern Cyprus as petrol pump attendants and at the so called "night clubs" too. So it was not just the port nm Crimea the Americans were after to start the war.

However having said all that was said and done, Turkey achieved two things in 1974. Not only did they remove the fascists from power in Cyprus, they also helped Greece too by removing the Junta there.
