Terrorists of Cyprus history

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Fri Feb 17, 2006 1:33 am

Lala, if you don't use quote (") around the phrase "Turkish civilization" then a document containing the sentence: "The Turkish barbarians destroyed the civilization", would come up in your results. This is why you get so many results when you search in this way. The word "Turkish" can be in the beginning of the document while the word "civilization" in the end.

An example: http://www.historyworld.net/wrldhis/Pla ... oryid=ab64
You will notice that the word "civilization" goes along with the word "greek", while the word "Turkish" appears with the words "empire" and "tribes" but not civilization.

This is why you have to use the quotes (") around the phrase, so google will look for the keywords as a phrase. The fact is that the phrase "Turkish civilization" occurs just 669 times, as opposed to the phrase "greek civilization" that occurs 331.000 times.

Also, since when did Google Search results = Historical Fact

Lala, you said that "it is just me", that I don't accept your "facts". However the fact is, that very few people other than Turks will use the words Turkish and civilization together as a phrase, because such thing does not exist (and I hope now you know that is not "just me". You woke up?)

Anyways, thanks that now apart from history you are teaching me how to use google as well  However it is apparent that you are the one who needs lessons in both.

I'm currently writting an essay on Turkish Literature and its role in other nations, I'll update you with some great facts my friend.

Be ready to experience.............

This is a Cyprus forum, not a Turkish one so don't bother because we don't care. If we want to learn more about Turkish literature we can do so from reputable authors, not from you.

Is this why you fill the forum with irrelevant things? (kiev, etc) because you are writing an essay about these things?

Turks are in Cyprus, the North of Cyprus is Turkish Cyprus, we are Geographical Cypriots, our history is Turkish history, our language Turkish our religion Islam.

Kiev is relevant to me as I am a Turkish Cypriot and my forefathers founded the capitol city of Ukraine which I just showed as an example.

It is of no relevance to you because you are Greek and anti-Turk.

So I will educate you about our literature and arts, hope you dont have a problem, :P

Make up your mind, one minute your Greek one minute Cypriot.

If your Cypriot why do you care if Alex the Macedonian was Macedonian or not, its a Greek Affair lol, why do you talk about Greek civilisation if your Cypriot, its very hypocritcal and un-sincere.

Results 1 - 10 of about 19 for "cypriot empire". (0.65 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,880,000 for "ottoman empire" [definition]. (0.20 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 82,900 for "greek empire". (0.18 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 178,000 for "mughal empire". (0.28 seconds)

etc etc etc

Theres a big difference between Tribes and Empires.

Empires create "civilization" my friend, they are the builders of projects, patrons of the arts, upholders of the Law, teachers of culture and learning.

What where Egyptions, Romans, Persians, they were all Empires and what resulted was their culture.

What were GokTurks, Gaznivids, Ottomans, Seljuks, Mughals, Safavids, Mamulukes, Khazars etc etc all Empires and what resulted is their great Turkish culture influencing the people's of these regions.

the tcs as far as i know, and ijn contrast to turkey, allow little influnce in their everyday life or in politics from islam.

absolutely not seing your point in searching for cypriot empires or a greek one !!!
dont see the difference between tribes and empires either...you refer to empires created civilazation... there was no greek empire, so...??? there are certain things you cannot deny concerning ancient greece. the greeks didnot found an empire, but, mostly athens, gave in a very short period of time quite a lot.. wouldnt you agree ?
so the link between empire and civilazation exists, but its not important, as non-empires are also in a position to create civilazation...civilazation that influenced, the west, thousand of years later.
not to mention it depends on how you define an empire.

i asked you again, when studying culture is a national / nationalistic way, more appropriate than a topological one ?

Why do you Turks bother. Everbody , and that I know deep down includes you, know that Turkish contribution to the well being of man has been limited to the Gyro. I find it farcical that you are writing a book on a poetry of Turkish Poetry. It problably start with
"Bark, Bark, Bark... " and finishes "Wooof Woof". Please keep your postings coming as they do give me a do make me laugh .
