Ethnic cleansing of other ethnic minorities by the Turks

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Ethnic cleansing of other ethnic minorities by the Turks

Postby Agios Amvrosios » Thu Feb 09, 2006 3:57 am

Turkish extremist always purport that the Republic of Turkey was justified in ethnically Cleansing the Greek cypriots from the north beccause they were a majority who did not respect the "Political equality' of the Turkish minorty.

OK! so why did the Republic of Turkey ethnic cleanse all the others such as the Armenians, Maronites and Latins as well?

This to me shows that the subtefuge Turkey has used to justify the ethnic cleansing of Cyprus is a crystal clear farce.

In any case can anyone out there give ANY valid justification for committing war crimes including ethnic cleansing?

There is no justification and thats why 'TRNC' enjoys and relishes its embargo.

You could say the same thing about Turks fleeing north from the south. It was never intended to cleanse the area of a certain race, simply escaping from a danger zone to a safer one. Doesn't this happen all the time in warzones?

I've noticed you like to put in some kind of racial reason behind everything, but it's just nonsense.

You do realise that the ethnic Turks unilaterally withdrew to the Occupied areas. In some cases the TMT forced turkish people north.

Doesn't this happen all the time in warzones?

Nope. Thats why the Geneva Convention protects ethnically cleansed communities from attempts at altering ethnic demography.

I really doubt you have any hard evidence about TMT forcing people north...

Yeah you tell that to the people trying to escape from war. If they want to leave, that's their choice.

"Oh excuse me sir, you can't leave the warzone you'll upset the ethnic demography"

If thats the case then why doesn't Turkey let the refugee go home now 32 years later.

Because it doesn't matter if its 30 years or 300 years, the problem still stands that Cyprus is politically unstable. I doubt there is anything actually stopping you moving north, as a Greek Cypriot friend is living in north Cyprus that I know, but some of you even refuse to cross the border on the grounds that
"I'm not showing my passport to enter my own country", what ignorance!

You can stay on your own side then and stop complaining.

It is not ignorance Pasha. For GCs to do this, is like us saying that it is ok that you have divided our country in two.

If you do it, or if you don't do it, it won't make any difference because the TRNC exists. Why be stubborn ?

It exists only to Turks. There is only one recognisable state in Cyprus.

It exists for whoever wants to travel there. Tavel to any border and you will see that it is a reality. Whether you wish to put aside your prejudices and cross, is another question, but it's ultimately up to you.

Nothing stopping you but yourself.
